Question of Benches
If you pressure wash/paint the building please include bench. However, who paints those on UCO property, roads, swales etc.? Do associations know whose is whosit. Looks as if it is better not to paint concrete. (Looks worse actual)
Why don't you volunteer to clean, paint and maintain all the bus benches in the village? That way we will not see any picture on this blog that do no show clean benches.
Haskel Morin the snowbird who picks up the litter on Haverhill every day during the season also takes care of the bus benches. He only has so much time or energy so he can't do them all. If someone wants to adopt a bus bench, they should clear it with UCO before doing it. Many thanks to Harkell who does so much for this village.
A member of my association just painted our bench, it is much less exhausting than calling UCO or Seacrest. Yesterday I bought a can of paint for something else, just waiting for the wind to drop :-)
Adopt-A-Bench is a great idea. Maybe there can be some creative painting so that we have something interesting to look at. Apparently in Delray they have decided to decorate all of their visible town dumpsters. So let's get crafty with bus benches in CV.
Thanks for keeping on top of these things, Elaine!

ReplyDeleteMollie, I think that your idea to have people adopt bus benches is a great idea and I would think that UCO would be thrilled with the idea.
ReplyDeleteFinally something constructive appears here.
ReplyDeleteTime to get rid of anonymous posts.
ReplyDeleteIf it were not for all the anonymous posts this blog would die.

ReplyDeleteClematis Street has great bench art. I would settle for purple toucans and some red, pink, and gold hibiscus on our bench.
