The Real CV Comcast Problem

At the Delegate Mtg Dave listed the second batch of channels removed, there were also some in June.
We are getting reduced service with no reduction in price.
If you are renting a set-top-box you do not care, since these channels have been punted into the digital bands (for more profit for Comcast).
The majority of CV people are receiving Comcast Enhanced Basic for the CV rate of $20.55/month (going up 5% next year).
Comcast is ignoring our requests for fair treatment.
Comcast is pushing us to rent their set-top-boxes to get our channels back (for more profit for Comcast).

June '08 removals:
46 C-Span 2 Senate
65 Oxygen
79 CMT Country Music Channel
Mid-October '08 removals
29 HBO Signature
72 ETW religion
26 Style
39 Shop NBC

    Oct 30, 2008 7:39:00 PM,

The COMCAST customer base is Nation wide and approaching 30 million subscribers.

To put it simply, as far as COMCAST is concerned; David Frye is small fry!!!

  3. Isn't that true about everthing. You get less product but it costs more: bread, candy bar, etc.

  4. Dave, you have a major attitude problem.

    DON"T PAY COMCAST !!!

If fact, any company that does what you do not like, don't buy their stuff. Any legal monopoly is regulated by government officials. If the governmental officials aren't doing their job, complain to the next level. The next level not doing their job, picket out in front of the offending establishment. Research where the CEO lives, publish their address, and picket their house.

My God, we did all this in the 60's...it's not that hard...stop being so lazy.

    Oct 31, 2008 8:54:00 AM,

We are claiming that COMCAST is in violation of our contract.

What would be the result of our witholding payment in response?

We would be in clear violation of the contract and on shaky legal grounds.

This is not a matter of "attitude", we must take the high ground, we must remain legal and coniderate of all options.

It might provide some psychic income to go for the instant gratification option, but it will not solve the problem.

  7. What a wimp !! They're either in violation of the contract or not, If they are in violation of the contract, you have no contract. So you stop paying them and they stop the cable service and thousands of CV residents complain and David Frye has to rule on the matter and guess who he going to side with: out of town company or thousands of angry voters.

Or if they are not in violation of the contract and you're just using this to scare the people and make yourself important, then you are a part of the racketeering someone else brought up.

See, no lawyers.... problem solved...for free

  9. If you've been reading the Post, you've been reading that the cable company has been messing with other communities, not just ours. We can't pool our resources?

BTW, Dave, you can change the colors of this template.
