The UCO By-laws clearly encourage us to operate in a manner consistent with Florida Sunshine laws.
That means anyone may attend any meetings of UCO and be permitted to observe, and as time may permit, ask questions if recognized by the chair.
Meetings should be N O T I C E D clearly on the Community information station, channel 63 – as the main purpose of this station, not as an afterthought as is currently apparent.
Should the Community Information Station be used for UCO meetings, Delegate Assemblies and Town Meetings as the primary point of notice, rather that a brief note during the 45 minutes of OTHER information displayed, then
P R O P E R N O T I C E would have been achieved. Notice of meetings should be placed upon bulletin Boards of All Condominiums unless channel 63 displays a meeting for a minimum of 15 days.
Why does the station require that we “give prior notice”, before we may attend a meeting? To whom are we required to “give prior notice” before we may attend? If we stare at the station, does the answer “just come to us”? To “give prior notice “ of our intent to attend a meeting, is 1 day in advance a proper response? So on Sunday, should we decide to attend a meeting on Monday – “who ya gonna call – Ghostbusters”
Don’t the Officers of UCO, hand out the agenda for Executive Board meetings as you walk in to attend the meeting? Why then aren’t we able to do the same, attend on the spur of the moment, without the requirement to “give prior notice”?
Of course attendance would, of necessity, be dependant on availability of seating, and when capacity was reached UCO should plan for larger rooms for future meetings to properly accommodate the growing attendees.
That's my view - What is yours? UCO needs to know.

I understand that the crawl under 63 informs of urgent stuff, like CNN and Fox News. The font they use is lousy, though. Channel 63 should change it to a no-nonsense typeface, like the all-news channels.
The meetings would be better listed in the UCO Reporter (+website) and on notice boards. It was a good beginning to have the meeting times on Channel 63 but that is not useful for people who work or travel and do not have an hour or the patience for Channel 63. I was watching and saw the Delegate Mtg notice, I lunged for a pencil to get the rest of the meetings but there then appeared 10 Aitz Chaim notices, no UCO notices, I think I fell asleep.
I don't imagine it would be very difficult for the UCO telephone receptionists to have a list of the time, date, and location of each committee meeting? Anyone interested in attending these meetings could call and ask for this information. At the same time, they could state that they wish to attend. No names should be necessary to be given. It's a start in the right direction... no?
Please explain why I must inform ANYONE of my last minute decision to attend any meeting? How is that a start in the right direction?
Do we require NOTICE to attend Town or Delegates Assembly Meetings?
Do we call Officers at home to NOTICE a desire to attend? Suppose one wishes to attend the Security meeting at 1:00 PM Friday, after the delegate Assembly, “who ya gonna call”?
What PURPOSE does such “prior notice” satisfy? If names aren’t taken and the committee is already meeting, as above, do we call from the meeting to the office to tell the receptionist? And, pray tell, just what does that accomplish?
Perhaps we should relish participation rather than finding was to make our residents

I agree with the idea that Channel 63 should post all notices well in advance. They should be put at the scrawl on the bottom of the screen. I find looking at the screen very tiresome to my eyes with the various colors and fanciness and then trying to understand what is trying to be said. The print is difficult to watch.
I agree with ElaineB about the times and notices of all meetings just the way they are in the Reporter should also be on the CV website.
You seem to be well-versed on a number of subjects. Are you going to run for a position in UCO?
