By any chance, are you the governor?
The rate that stamps go up, even if it were five cents a year, is not a good investment for most people in their "golden years." Think about it: Those of us that are not living on just our SS can easily afford the rate that stamps rise. Those that are living only on their SS cannot easily afford a $41 roll of stamps times ten, which would be $410. So for an investment of $410, in ten years, at the rate of five cents a year, would be only 50 cents. Is it worth tying up $410 for ten years to gain only a 50 cent profit? That is not a good investment.
Gosh, that's a whole lot of thinking for a penny. But I must say, you have a good point!
Bob, By any chance, are you a UCO VP?
You left out the words 'per stamp per' 3rd line from end, and 'per year', out of your final calculation.
What's factor of 10 error at UCO when an election is approaching! SOP.
