This Site is a fine tribute to all Veterans.
Please take the time to read through it, and listen to the accompanying soundtrack.
Thanks to Elaine for the reference-

I CRIED - THANK YOU
I know a very dear couple who spend their summers in Henderson, North Carolina. The husband is a World War II veteran and served in the Battle of the Budge. There is a group called the Honorair Program. You may have heard about it. Charles Osgood did a story on it one Sunday morning, sometime back.
The gentleman I know is 92 years old. He is a wonderful, humble and very patriotic person.
The citizens of Henderson County took up collection through the Boy Scouts and other various community organizations. Their goal was to send every Henderson County veteran of World War II up to Washington, free of charge, to see the World War II memorial. The veterans were flown up to Regan National Airport where there was a crowd waiting to honor them. They were all taken by bus to the World War II Memorial where every single veteran was accompanied by a guardian or medical technician if needed. Many of these veterans were in wheelchairs. Some had difficulty walking but were gently cared for by these guardian. They were honored every step of the way at the airport, at the memorial and then taken to dinner before they were flown home to Henderson County. On their return to Henerson, there was again a crowd waiting at the airport to honor them. I was fortunate enough to see the show that was presented on Charles Osgood. I cried like a baby. I have tried to find the show on the internet so I could share it with you. I wasn’t able to find it, but I did find this article if you would like to read it.

Dave, would it be possible you could start a new post with a link to the Charles Osgood story. It's so important and I think everybody should see it, even though I know it will make them all cry.
Thanks, Chris
