Hi Mike,

You can get a Guest Picture ID from Joy in the WPRF ID Office in the Clubhouse.

You will require a letter from the President of your Board, briefly stating the status of your guest, and that he/she is "Fully approved for guest privileges in accordance with current regulations."

Also state the time frame of the desired Guest Pass.

While WPRF/ID Office will accept the letter from the President, with the Association Seal, this should technically be a Board decision.

There will be a nominal fee charged by WPRF.

Last Tuesday I went to WPRF
ID office to get a picture
pass for my grandaughter and I did not need a letter
from my President. For 2
weeks the cost is $4.00.
I said that when this pass
expires I will need another
2 week pass and she told me
that I was close to my
limit of 30 days per unit
per year because in Feb.
my son and daughter-in-law
got a pass for 8 days but
she also told me to go
back to WPRF in 2 weeks and
try to get another pass
because this ruling has not
been enforced YET.

Hi Nutmegger,

Yes, what you say is correct, I was keying my answer to Mike's time frame of one month; I believe if you want a time frame of that length, they will require the referenced letter.

BTW, I have been successful in authorizing my Unit Owners guests for up to 3 months with the referenced letter; the fee of course is the $4.00 you mentioned X the number of 2 week periods.

If you find that the rules have changed; as they do from time to time, please BLOG the latest rules here.

Thanks,

Dave

Why are the rules changing from time to time. Is it WPRF or the Operations Cmte causing this. They did get rid of the 'no guest who lives within 100 miles can use the facilities'. I figured that was $$ motivated.

Most building documents address the issue of visitors and how long they can stay. The problem sometimes is that residents are actually trying to rent vacation time to friends and relatives. These are not real relatives or friends.I believe that WPRF since they own the recreational facilities can put certain controls on length of use by non residents. My own experience that I can go to the clubhouse and gets guest passes for my guests without anything from the building president.

I would hope the Randall might comments on this matter. Whether a 3 month guest is proper or not I do not know.

Hi Larry,
The Rental issue is indeed tricky.

Our documents require that the Unit Owner be in residence if there is a guest present; no unaccompanied guests permitted.

This tends to kibosh the Rental problem.

Dave, The problem is that the owner IS in residence when supposed "guests" are there. That is how they rent out the rooms.

WOW!!!!! This is getting complicated , renting out rooms. People actually do that?

Mike, I suggest that you attend the next presidents workshop and learn first hand what some of our residents try to do or not do.

Boy, I sure am glad I live where I live. My president wouldn't allow that in a New York minute! Not a thing gets past my pres. It is very good to have a strong board. I can't believe what some people try to get aways with. Holy Cow!

Dear Susie- Some people feel that Presidents that enforce the documents and rules are acting like dictators.
