Hi All,
I understand that there was a thread regarding the selection process for movies here in the CV Clubhouse. As I understand it, this thread was picked up by Frank Cerabino.
For some reason, this thread mysteriously vanished from the BLOG.
I have backtracked the Cerabino thead on his BLOG; BINO'S BLOGARONI, and I am reproducing it herewith.
To whoever vanished the original Thread, please remember, No opinions are supressed on this BLOG.

Century Village: Where Today’s Hollywood Stars Don’t Matter
By Frank Cerabino Wednesday, May 14, 2008, 03:12 PM
Whatever happened to the real actors, anyway?
We here at The Blogaroni occasionally tap into Century Village’s pulse (weak, erratic) in the always entertaining “blog and chat” started by Dave Israel, a tech-savvy senior who lives in the West Palm Beach retirement community.
A recent item submitted by another resident bemoaned the selection of movies picked to play at the condo’s clubhouse theater. Here it is.
Maybe it’s because their eggos aren’t preggos
The movies, Juno, starring Ellen Page; 27 Dresses, starring Katherine Heigl; and Before the Devil Knows You’re Dead, starring Philip Seymour Hoffman and Ethan Hawke, may be star-studded movies to their grandkids.
But at Century Village, Ellen Page is no Patti Page, and the Katharine that draws a crowd is a Hepburn, not a Heigl.
So when these movies were slated to run at Century Village, they were met with a combination of mystification, disappointment and the sense that residents were being fed a slew of second-rate entertainments.
“Notice the actors’ names,” griped a resident on the Century Village blog. “They must be very well known somewhere, perhaps on the moon.”
Or perhaps in the rest of America.
Another resident responded: “Stoning is too good for whoever is picking the movies.”
Raising (Michael) Caine
Another responded: “On the average I enjoy one out of the four monthly offerings, so I go to the libraries to see better ones.”
Beleaguered movie stars take note
So if any of today’s biggest Hollywood stars need a place to hide out for awhile in total anonymity, let me suggest Century Village, where they’ll just be assumed to be somebody’s visiting grandchildren.
