From Q&A: we know it is really Jules, long-time protector of our community, because its Q&A.
Author: Jules Sitnick 7/29/08
After many years living at Century Village and having served the residents as an instructor for over a decade, illness forced me to cut down on activities.
Last year, because the president of my association refused to go to delegate meetings, I insisted he appoint me (a board member) as delegate of our building.
Since attending the meetings I have discovered why he refused to go to meetings and why our building does not follow the UCO recommended by-laws.
The meetings are held without regard for unit owners wishes and/or desires.
There is a wall of egomania that pervades the meeting with constant dissent and childish rhetoric blasting the atmosphere.
Recently the president and vice-president of UCO resigned stating that they felt the assembly was not supporting them.
Yet at the recent delegates meeting these same people are once again running for their same office. I don't know if that is permissible or not, but it is certainly immoral if ethical.
If you are not wanted, by your own admission, why try to force yourself on the unit owners? Does it make you a better person or more useful to be where you will be less effective in doing your volunteer job?
I may be naive or ill-informed, but I feel the unit owners are not being served by this kind of administration.

That sure sums it up . Bravo, Jules
Hi Jules,
A concise and cogent analysis of a sad situation.
It has been said that "The People get the Government they deserve"
Think about this on Friday August 1st. 2008 when you vote!!

I did not see this on the Q&A i guess they took it off .
It is the second comment to my SOS post, I see the Q&A rolls the posts with the latest comments to the top. Nifty, once you are used to it. Dorothy E. Brown
Jules, you said it right. I go up North for 3 monthes to be with my family and by the middle of June I was ready to get away. How can we ever get rid of this nonsense, I too am tired of the of the whole mess. I too am a delegate, and we made sure we appointed another delegate to vote. There was a lady by the name of Eddie in the UCO office who was downright rude when one of our redidents went in to have her name put down as delegate. Eddie didn't make it easy or pleasant.
Was the proper procedure followed to have a new delegate name added? Did the building president sign and seal the request?
To anon: Yes, she called first to make sure she had the right stuff to bring down.
Even if a volunteer or paid person...RUDNESS should not be acceptable!!!!
Norma right now the working conditions at the UCO office are between awful and terrible. Not everyone who answers the phone have the right information. The stress level is high with some feelings of insecurity of the unknown future at UCO. There are only a few people to do a lot of jobs. Hopefully all this will end Friday and things at UCO can get back to normal.
Norma, Go and spend two or three hours at the UCO office right now and you to will become frustrated. impatient and perhaps down right ornery. Many of the people who come to the office are very difficult to deal with and are very demanding.Because of the very tight quarters it is a most difficult place to be. Things will not improve until the new UCO office is ready and people who work or volunteer there can have some space.
Excuses, excuses, excuses,
People in the village are outraged. If a volunteer cannot deal with the stress, then stay home. After this Friday, the only hope the village has is that UCO WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THE WAY IT WAS.
Leadership sets the tone.
To anon 6:25. Are you a volunteer at UCO?
