The election results are in and Mr. Loewenstein who resigned 7-11-08 was reelected.
However the margin of victory was not the mandate he took the March results to mean.
The 104 votes for Mr. Loewenstein are a scant 17-vote plurality over second place and only a mere 42 % of the votes cast. Even smaller if you count the entire 349 eligible to vote, it is only 32 % of that total.
I would presume this means this community now wants a healing of the partisan and denigrating approach that has been the pattern of the past. Any effort to include people that want to help this Village should be considered and like David Bernstein, former UCO VP, said, forget what happened in the past, and look forward to see what can be done for the future.
Mr. President, the ball is in your court to resolve the bitterness, I for the sake of this Village, encourage you to make that your first order of business. This Village is ready for all our efforts to band together for the common good! Many of us know you are regularly informed on comments on this blog and surely only you can now change the direction of this Village by INCLUDING EVERYONE THAT OFFERS HELP. We can all agree that a movement for 141 Associations to pull out of UCO would not be good for this Village nor would a recall. Please consider the future of UCO seriously.
That’s the way I see it, what’s your view?

I prefer to have the 141 Assoc. pull out. Geo has proven not to be a good shepard of CV funds. UCO and George must go. Another 20 months of Geo's ruinous fical policies and we will be assessed thousands to fix the things that Geo. did not fix, shorelines , roads etc.
George's present term is fo 8 months not 20.
WOW!!!!!! That is great news but I still think we should pull out of UCO to keep our money safe. Only God knows what Georgie boy has planned for our money. If past history teaches us anything , it won't be for the benefit of the unit owners.
a two-year term from 3/08 takes George to 3/2010. Why do you think he has only 8 months?
I thought it was for 20, but I'm new.
The president was reelected to complete the term to March 2010, not 8 months. The seat of Davis is the remaining 7 1/2 months of Former VP Richland, and Karpf is in until March 2010 as well.
Is there an election for The Davis VP spot in 7 1/2 months?
Yes two seats are up March 2009. Bummolo and Davis
George won because there was three canidates. Had there been two, the outcome would have been different.

As many people know Ed Black and I do not always agree but this time we do.We need to work together to start the healing process and move on to the future.Second guessing what might have been if there were less candidates does not accomplish anything. The election is over.
I agree we need to work together to heal-not to bash and ridicule. The election is over. Get past your egos and rhetoric and join in bringing harmony back to CV.

I would like to add my comments, because your accusations are either frivolous, mean spirited, or just plain uninformed.
Why do you interpret any discussion that does not blindly agree with your narrow view a risk to you. This is a democracy and the exchange of views is readily permitted. Even yours.
One major stumbling block toward the “harmony" that you preach is that those Condo Owners with whom you disagree offered to work within the UCO team and were refused and smeared by uninformed comments like yours.
Just because someone offers to volunteer, in no way means they have an ego to anyone but you, perhaps.
Some of us have spent a lifetime working to help people around us, family, close friends, sometimes strangers. Many of us believe this is truly why we inhabit this planet. Not to spread our egos as you blatantly profess. You might be wrong, and frankly I would have enjoyed having this discussion in private so as to not embarrass you. But you wanted to remain nameless and make a personal attack on people with whom you have no personal experience or direct knowledge. Are you always so quick to judge others?
Really, some of us feel we could help make UCO a more open and responsive group of volunteers, aimed at helping to inform with our knowledge and experiences that may compliment those who already work at UCO. How do you explain the refusal by the President to permit Committee chairs to pick their own choices for Committee members? Our volunteering to work for this community does not demonstrate ego, but refusing volunteers while continuing to complain they need help is ludicrous, and even you should be able to understand this.
Maybe you would take offense if I accused you of not getting past your ego ridiculing others you don’t even know. WHO is at fault here?
That's my view, and I encourage yours.

This is my first time on the Blog and I am a 2 year resident. My question is "When an officer resigns from his office, where does it say in the bylaws that he can run again for the position he resigned from? Who ever nominated him was wrong and who ever voted for him too was wrong. You just dont bring someone back into office who quit on you once!!
