Hi All,
Below is a photo. of Cocoplum trimmed to form a hedge. it is but one of many alternatives to the Whitefly prone Ficus. So, if you do not like the Ladybug idea and would prefer not to saturate the environment with pesticides, think about replacing the Ficus with an alternative listed in the following reference:

We already removed our ficus hedges (and one ficus tree) because their roots are so invasive they can get into drain pipes and cause considerable damage that is expensive to fix. Why bother to save the ficuses? So far as I'm concerned, this is a good time to get rid of ficuses ANYWHERE NEAR sewer lines. We have replaced most of the ficuses with the coco plum, just as suggested. The coco plum hedges look real good.
