"Meanwhile, the low end of the value ranking is dominated by over-55 condos, with Century Village's $37 a square foot at the bottom."
-
Hi all,
There is an interesting Thread about an article in the Palm Beach Post regarding Real Estate values in CV.
-
Here is a URL for an article, I am not sure it is the article referenced by Nutmegger:
-
The only reference to Century Village is as follows:
-
"Meanwhile, the low end of the value ranking is dominated by over-55 condos, with Century Village's $37 a square foot at the bottom."
The article references a report by Zillow.com, and what Zillow has to say is not good; values specific to Century village; and the chart for ZIP 33417 and other local ZIPs, show both the Village and ZIP 33417 at the bottom of the heap.
-
The graphic at the top of this Post tells it all; Century Village is represented by the red line and comes in, thus far in 2009 with a median price circa 27K
-
The next graphic compares ZIP 33417 with other local ZIPs.

Thanks for the reference, it led to some good sources, as you can see.

That's us! Bottom of the pile.
David, as I read this these are "now" figures.
When the Real Estate market was at it's highest where would Century Village WPB been on the chart?
Wouldn't it have also been at the bottom then?
I can think of a lot of people who would love to be at the bottom of the list like we are. Security, cable ,new clubhouse, free movies,
shows for $8,free dances, beautiful pools all over the village ,great health club with motion pool, buses running throughout the village that also take people on excursions and shoping outside the village, free classes on many subjects and paid class for other subjects at a modest price,a newspaper and channel 63 to keep people informed on village happenings. In my case, all for $298.89(WPRF&ASSN dues) a month. The village also has a medical buildong with Drs and a pharmacy on premise. The whiners in CV make me sick.
My above comment was not aimed at anyone who commented before me. I was commenting on people I hear everyday bitching about some trivial matter involving CV.They should get a life and thank thier lucky stars ,they have such a great place to live.

Yes, indeed, as the chart indicates, at no time in the period covered were we anywhere but at the bottom.
This is not a bad thing; merely a fact that makes housing here affordable for our demographic.
See Mike's comment as regards amenities and value for our Residents
