Paulette Burdick is Toast

Paulette Burdick is toast, ring, ring, ring..

Have you been constantly interrupted and awakened by her phone survey.
There is no “go away” "do not call” option. Your only options are to answer a long biased survey or be bothered again later.
How stupid do they think we are. Oh, this is Florida and they are consultants.
If you answer a couple of questions and hang up they will call back!! Forcing you to answer – no doubt they will be amazed at some negative responses, and many hang-ups. When will the programmed calling nonsense stop.

From the news - “Burdick: paid consultants on hold. Pleased with the grass-roots volunteer organization for her 2010 Democratic campaign for county commission, school board member Paulette Burdick has put paid consultants … on hold — at least temporarily. Burdick is running against state Rep. Mary Brandenburg, D-West Palm Beach, in a Dem primary to succeed term-limited Commish Jeff Koons.” “Burdick paid $1,000 in June for the consulting expertise of Johnson, who’s also chief of staff to U.S. Rep. Robert Wexler, D-Boca Raton, and who works with Schiller on several local races.”

Just Say No to 2

Florida already has a law banning gay marriage. Therefore, Amendment 2, the so-called ban on gay marriage, is superflurous. It is written so vague that it can be interpreted as a ban on any unconventional lifestyle, including unmarried men and women living together. Here in Century Village, there are a number of couples that moved in together in their upper years. Mainly for company and also by combining their SS checks, they both lead a better life. This proposal is dangerous. Legal benefits that they currently enjoy could be taken away from them under Amendment 2. Vote NO on 2, and let our neighbors enjoy what's left of their life.

Click on this link to get an opinion signed by over 125 lawyers saying that Amendment 2 is bad news.

Political Candidate Forum

August 7 and 8, 1:30 pm, Clubhouse Theater, CVers are invited to a forum where they can question local candidates for political office. For more information, call George at 471-9929 or Kurt at 640-5872.

This morning I asked G. Loewenstein if UCO still had a political liaison. He explained that he and Phyllis have been our political contacts for the past couple of years. They stayed in touch with Aronberg and Buchner. George is meeting with Senator Lieberman tomorrow. George is also working with Aronberg to amend a recent condo law. G. says he has a good rapport with our politicians and they definitely listen to the village when he calls on them. If you want to know more ask George, mine was just a fly-by question.

So villagers can also remind the candidates this week “What have you done for us lately!” “What can you do?”

Wexler doesn't live in district.

No wonder he doesn't care how many illegals live here.
