Chris and I made a spur of the moment trip to Paisano’s. We believe Capt John (5/26) but we had to check the cheese dispenser, it was pristine, Luigi from Palermo assured us that he cleans it daily. The pizza was great and the newly-decorated super-clean cozy ambience is just right for small groups of CV’ers. Some customers walk from CV.

For those of you who missed the cheese saga and think we are crazy, we were checking for Flynn. Its okay Flynn you can go there.
The pizza was terrific and inexpensive. The place is very small, but very comfortable, cozy. Even the fridge holding the water/sodas was sparking clean. I am impressed. Thanks Capt John. You did good!
Sorry we didn't invite any of you other bloggers, but it was a decision that was made in 5 minutes.
ps: It could be a regular gathering place for us chatty bloggers.
YES !!!
Dear Elaine: I am pleased that you checked the cheese for me. I didn't think the place was big enough for meetings. The cheese was always good. The owners and help are pleasant. I haven't been to it lately because I have my food delivered. They are quick, reliable and reasonable. They have had my vote for a long time. I just thought the rest of the "gang" wanted a ritzier place. I apologize.
Hey Flynn:
Was that remark about ritzy
places aimed at me? I too
go to pizza palaces where
you use paper napkins and I
will throw in another great
pizza place. The name is
DePietro's, Spencer Square,
2550 Okeechobee Boulevard,
West Palm Beach. It is
family owned and run and
they are very friendly and
make you feel like great.
ChrisJ they have a very
delicious Eggplant Parmigiana hot sub. Great
menu. Let's go here for
our Blog Party.
Dear Nutmegger: Let me reassure you nothing was aimed at anyone, especially you. I like you, and I like your name. I remember you saying that you liked doing crossword puzzles. I'm trying to get used to puzzles. I have heard that they keep your mind sharp. I especially like Italian food, and I am not alone. There is a place called Miami Subs on Spencer and Okeechobee. They just put up a sign stating they have new owners, everything is clean and good. I met the new owner and wished him well; he is from South America. We began talking about food and he said he prefers Italian food over all others, including Spanish food that he was brought up on. I told him I will stop in every so often because he serves genuine Nathan's hot dogs cooked on the grill and this brings me back to my youth.
I have eaten at Miami Subs
just to order a Nathan Hot
Dog but I haven't been there in over a year. They are located at
2600 Okeechobee which is
just before DePietro's.
All should try it and I am
sure you will like it.
I have had Paisano's pizza but like the pizza in the other plaza better.
L.B.P.
I ordered a spinach/cheese (not Parmesan) calzone from Paisano's. I asked if he had renovated the store and he said yes, he did it a month ago; why don't I stop in? I promised him I would in the near future. As usual, the calzone, which is like a large sandwich, was just as tasty and satisfying as it ever was.
BTW, have any of you tried Mario the Baker? Located on State Road 7, the same right turn as if you were going to the Regal, he is on the left just as you turn in. Make a U turn at the first opportunity and come back at the front door. It's a large store, family style restaurant, lots of tables, fantastic food, prices very good, and oh yes, the Parmigiana is clean. Great place, especially if you just came out of the movie, or about to go in. I clocked it: Nine minutes from Paisano's.
Thank you, Nutmegger. I tried DePietro's today. I was very, very pleased. A good menu, price is right, and tasty Italian-style cooking. Yes, the cheese container was pristine. I had fried ravioli for an appetizer, then a dish of baked penne and sausage. For dessert, I had chocolate Italian ice. Of course, the regular rolls were served, but I didn't eat any; the rest of the food was all I could consume. Thank you again.
