Hi all,
What is it? Well you may ask; is your new Cable box hot? Check the top of the box and you will see a ventilated center section, full of holes.
If you see this little warning, it is stuck to a plastic covering which is blocking the holes. Remove the plastic and your box will now be ventilated and will run a bit cooler.
Comcast, no doubt, will claim that the end user should do this; however, they should be aware that in our CV demographic, many of our residents cannot see this little warning.
Please check for this and urge your neighbors to also do so!

Thanks Dave, I looked on mine and it had it on, so i removed it. Thanks again, Marc
Life was better with the old system. Now we got to deal with a cable box. From what I read on the blog, people are having trouble with sound, and picture disappearing and can't tape their shows. I know this is a new age, but installing close to 8000 cable boxes is going to be a small feat and you can rest assure a lot of people will be calling comcast to take them out. Whoever thought of this brillant idea, I hope it was worth it.
Hey, anonymous.
What makes You think our glorious leaders would do such unnecessary
thing such as " to think "?
They do not need to think. They have the power over all of us.
Today it is Comcast, tomorrow they will tell us which phone company to use, what to have for a lunch.
Enjoy! And that is not a request.
That is an order!
Hey Anonymous, I don't think so. I am not going to get the cable box. I have a nice new LCD tv and I get enough channels. There are not that many channels that I choose to watch anyway as long as I have my MSNBC.
I know of two people that are already returning the cable box. They just don't want it.
Hi all,
The initiating events of this exercise were the slow, but steady removal of channels from our contracted lineup!
Do you all remember how they took them away one by one; CSPAN 2, Oxygen, CMT, EWTV....Etc., all accompanied by your complaints.
The process took months of negotiation; punctuated by appropriate confirmatory votes by the Delegate Assembly.
Now we have a Cable Box, it has a Remote Control; no more complicated than the ones we all have with our pre-existing TV sets, and we have other issues to complain about.
Do you want solutions, or do you want to bulldog the issues; all of our complaints must be answered in turn by Comcast Techs.
Call the numbers which have been supplied, or send your complaint my way as previously posted on this BLOG.
In due course, your issue will be resolved.
As for "returning or refusing the box" Fine, but keep in mind that this contract was approved by the Delegate Assembly and the Cable expense is thus declared a Common one.
So, even if you have no box, the cost is still there to be paid; so try the new programming and perhaps you will like it.

Mr. Israel,
please do not blame Your own shortcommings on the delegate assembly. The d.a. (no way I shall capitalise) - well, we all know who they are. The old, feeble minded codgers, too weak to refuse
offered posts when the true elite
of the c.v. goes up north.
Sincere appologies to Elaine @ Black.
