Stores, Shopping, etc

Does anybody know when the new Walmart grocery store on Okeechobee and Jog is suppose to open? (the old Winn Dixie)

Does anybody know when the new Lowes in suppose to open?

(the old Toys-R-Us)

I've heard that the Palm Beach Mall will not be knocked down. Don't know if it is true or not.

Thanks,
Chris

The Palm Beach Mall is going to end up as a "Big Box" shopping center.

Loew's is a long way from being ready to open.

As far as Wal Mart grocery? I would assume that they want to open it as soon as possible and will let everyone know when that is.

Thanks Larry. What exactly is a "Big Box" shopping center?

If you have a shopping center with a lot of big stores, IE Wal-Mart, Macy's , Publix, Home Depot Etc. NOT connected to each other by a mall. Each store has their own entrances. Parking lots are usually shared. Older malls are now being converted to the Big Box Concept by knocking down the Mall part. Normally lost in this process are smaller stores, kiosk stores, sunglass stores, etc. and the food court.

Big Box sounds like a good idea. I don't particularly like that mall, but do hope we don't loose Macys, Dillards, JCPenny and Sears. It is so close for all of us, very convenient.
Thanks, Chris

The major stores in the Palm Beach Mall will be part of the "big box stores".
