Open the Door

There is a gate between Century Village and the building that encompasses the MRI, X-rays, a number of other medical doctors and people of the same persuasion. This gate has been locked shut. A large number of people have been voicing their disapproval of this situation. It seems if they go for a treatment and it leaves them a little weak or if they went to an ophthalmologist and their eyes were dilated, therefore, making it difficult to drive in traffic going over 50 miles an hour on Okeechobee Boulevard. If someone can get that gate to be opened for, let's say, six to eight hours a day, it would be a great advantage to the people in Century Village. Perhaps if you know someone that drives to that building built of green windows and they explained why the entranceway was so advantageous and necessary, you would get a better sense of what I'm trying to say. Even if it would cost some money, perhaps shared by both the building and our village, I feel our people would vote for it.

As far as I know the subject gate was never an OFFICIAL entrance or exit but a courtesy provided by the former Hansen Building. All cost were borne by the building or some of its tenants. The tenants chose to stop paying the cost so the gate was closed. It us also my understanding that the gate got very little use lately which was another factor.

There is also the question as to what kind of gatehouse would be needed to meet minimum standards for a proper guard.

Would village residents be willing to pay to maintain another gate? Good question.
My suggestion would be to bring the matter to the attention of the UCO security committee for consideration.

Dr. Feistmann has an ad on page 28 of the UCO Reporter that states that the gate is closed but that our shuttle bus stops at his location the Midtown Imaging Bldg., he also makes house calls. The stop is not on the bus schedule as yet but check with the driver when you board.
Bob - Isn't it a good thing if people who are weak and cannot see do not drive anywhere!

People should take the shuttle if they are unable to drive there and back. Mike

First time I use a name, I screw it up . lol

That's ok Mike, we love ya anyway. How did you screw it up? It looks right (Wright) to me.
Rev. Jeremiah Wright.

He sure is messing things up for Obama. I feel sorry for Obama.

I should be watching my friend Bill O'Reily to see what is going on. But again, here I am on this darn blog...

O'Reilly - not O'Reily. I'm right (Wright) there with you Mike old boy!

Elaine, is Dr. Feistmann the doctor that was paying for the gate to be open. I remember someone (maybe Larry) writing a while back that one doctor was paying the fee and that lady to keep the gate open. I have heard good things about Dr. Feistmann. And to think, a doctor that still makes house calls. That's amazing in this day and age. I'm impressed!

I get a kick out of O'Rielly , he sexually harrassed an employee and then assumes the roll of arbiter of good moral. What a joke . I'll take Pat Buchanan anytime.

Hi Mike, now I notice what you did.
I don't care where we go - I'll go where you guys want to go. Elaine mentioned that you wanted Italian this time. I love Italian. I just don't want to go to the place with the moldy parmmesanny!!!

Set the date when you guys are ready. I've got some stuff going on in the middle of May that will make it difficult for me to make.
It would probably have to be before May 11 for me or not until the end of May, beginning of June.

Anybody interested in our next little party? I hope so. We had such a good time the first time.

Last time Elaine picked the place, so this time it's your turn Mike. Maybe next time I can pick and then the new people that show up this time can pick for the place after that.

What does everbody think? We should probably start a new post so people see it.

Seven of the comments made here have NOTHING to do with the subject. I guess some people just like to get their name in print. Hurry back Dave before this blog becomes useless.

Is it possible that the
gate closed the same week
that Dr. Marvin Reinberg
died and Dr. Reinberg was
the doctor paying for the
gate to be operated.

Get lost anonymous, go to CV Q&A. Its more your speed, devoid of substance. Mike

This blog originated as a plea to have the entrance between CV and the Hansen Building where the doctors are. But this is a blog, and anything goes, so long as it's not nasty and the language is clean. We can disagree and we can agree.

It seems the gate situation is not working at this time. The important question now is where shall the blog hold its next get-together? I propose we all take a trip to New York because that's where the best restaurants are gathered.
