"THE FAULT, DEAR BRUTUS, IS NOT IN OUR STARS, BUT IN OURSELVES, THAT WE ARE UNDERLINGS."

Sue Cohen nailed the problem, “look in the mirror”!

That is very clear. If every disgruntled resident sought to become the “one of many”, this group would become the “force” to require change, that right now, everyone looks for “someone” else to do.

Because of the “enemy” list maintained at the UCO office, and the astonishing success that maligning those on this list has had, EVEN Myron Solomon lost his seat at the table. Such manipulation was mandatory so the Administration could in all innocence claim this idea of mediation “just suddenly popped into their heads” and really wasn’t planned for the past 60 to 90 days, while running out of money.

Calling on all dissatisfied residents, this mess is yours! By maintaining your quiet disagreement you have empowered and strengthened their read of the tenor of this Village and emboldened their actions.

Example: Just before the election, they campaigned we would receive not the $ 1,400.00 but rather $ 700.00 from this case that we were going to win! 4 weeks later we are told to proceed is a “crap shoot”. Manipulation!!

The UCO office was approved by only the Executive Board, because UCO FAILED to give the “proper notice” of a meeting or the agenda required by the UCO by-laws. Wasn’t the settlement meeting also IMPROPERLY noticed and even the agendas INCORRECTLY prepared failing the 48 hour By-law required advance notice? Manipulation!!

Aren’t they the innocents, when someone offered a motion that was seconded, to require that agendas and meetings need 48 hours notice? Even the motion became part of the IGNORED items for which this Administration has become famous. Manipulation!!

When will the honest dissenters realize they have the power as in “We the people, in order to form a more perfect union….”, and abandon their victimization, and take the mandatory responsibility to take whatever action is required, on behalf of those whose age or health, restricts their participation? Where would this country be if our founding forefathers were as “chicken” as we today have become??

I remain truly disappointed that my participation has failed miserably to stimulate any increase in those “silent majority” victimized resident owners. Stop the complaining, take action, we, too, can have a West Palm Beach TEA PARTY, ..... Alligators invited!

Why during your administration were monetary matters passed and voted upon in the operations committee and never brought to the delegates? As mentioned on Friday, a five million dollar expenditure was authorized without going to the delegates for approval. I also don't recall during past administrations any town meetings to dicuss and have Q&A until this one. Just curious.

Dear Ed,

If I read history correctly, our founding fathers had leadership at every turn of the times. This is not the American Revolution or Ancient Rome, this is a bunch of exploiters taking advantage of the old and feeble, backed by an unending multitude of lawyers that WE PAY FOR. I read and re-read your post. Other than telling the old and feeble to stand up without leadership, you offer no solutions in your post. Even the stupid learn after 26 years of touching the hot stove and winding up with burnt fingers that touching the hot stove will give you burnt fingers. So again I ask, what is your solution?

My solution? We live in condominiums, so follow the condominium laws.

ps.I looked in the mirror and I liked what I saw.

Lest we forget, we had no Theater in which to hold meetings. We were also quite concerned with the crux of the dispute the “TIMELINE”. This became extremely difficult while the Clubhouse was down and in recovery mode.

We spoke frequently at the Assembly meetings attempting to keep resident informed; however much that would help, given the extremely limited space of under 500 seats. We could only meet at the temple placing a considerable restriction on how many could attend.

Please understand that the current Administration's Operations Committee has not asked for any approval from the Delegate Assembly for any decisions they have made, save two.

1. Do you want us to pursue your money (meaning the 11 million phantom money we referred to previously)? Later they claimed to the Federal Bench, Judge Hurley, that we APPROVED the legal action, which the minutes FAIL to reflect!
2. This Settlement was brought before the Delegate Assembly Friday April 4, 2008. This was done instead of allowing all of the former participants in the “registry” to take part in this decision, and many complained about the rush to judgment at this meeting, for precisely that reason. Why didn’t the sides SEAT THE CLASS allowing for all 7854 to vote? Didn’t this Administration campaign to provide all owners the right to vote to elect UCO officers? What better opportunity or more important issue has come before this Village than the settlement, in the past 8 years?
Please understand, I have advocated that the Operations Committee meet in the Auditorium, and openly discuss the more than 10 million dollar budget, so we may all sit-in on those meetings. Unfortunately, The Millennium Agreement gives absolute authority to approve this budget to the operations Committee and no open meetings, in a large room have yet been held. WHY?

No Administration has had such response from Residents, until now, and now is when change is needed.
Among the change needed is the professional management of UCO by paid employees who’s EGO would remain home with their families.

This would take the POLITICS out of this management! I believe the costs would be cut, with professionals in charge of the daily activity of UCO, and without building a new office, to begin savings immediately! This just concluded election, once again used the Phantom and ever elusive 11 Million (opps …excuse me reduced to:) 6 million Dollars, as a platform to be reelected for two more years, even though he knew mediation was in the near future OR having to ask the Assembly for increased budget permission for continuing, to quote George, “the CRAP SHOOT”. Estimated between $ 500,000.00 and 1,000,000.00. We spent nearly $ 600,000.00 and got what? I believe professional management would not have listened to the hysteria of emotion and felt inclined to weigh the “pros and cons” before recommending we proceed in the first place. We need this kind of intellect and sound judgment now!

That’s my view, what’s yours?

I have a great idea. Lets eliminate all UCO functions and turn everything back to management "WPRF".
Lets eliminate the Operations Committee and let WPRF handle everything.

Lets hire H. Irwin Levy to run the village as he did when he started the village.

No UCO No Operations Committee-just peace and quite in the village.

Well, I don't think Mr. Levy (Sr or Jr) are in the Association development/management business anymore. WPRF is not the same as the old Cenvill Development Corp. either. However, once the Milenium Lease is over, CV can buy the assets WPRF manages (clubhouses etc.) from Benesen Capital et al. and run everything ourselves or hire a firm (or firms) to manage it for us.

I think We have to get rid of UCO in the next for years. I don't think CV can wait till the Millenium Agreement is over. A profeesional management company has to be hired to run the affairs of the Village. This latest fiasco should have shown everyone that amatuer management must go. Mike

Read this blog entry and the comments following. Then read the book "Bleak House" by Charles Dickens.

Huh! Earth to anon, you need to 'splain. No slinging around obscure literary references. Bleak House? isn’t that where people multiply their problems many times by not fessing up and being honest!

Dear HA HA,

You just proved how badly we need to get rid of UCO so that a Civilized Society can flourish.

Dear Ha Ha
I make it a practice to never respond to someone so ashamed of their intolerances that they write leaving OUT their name!
I am making an exception because you obviously do not understand the concept of "constructive critism".
I forgive you and encourage others to do the same. This is the real Ed Black, not the one protrayed by people seeking to advance themselves.
If you cannot be proud of your opinion, why should anyone else consider it?

That's my view, what's yours?

Dave Israel created the Anonymous listing process in order to get more people writing in the blog. Since it bothers some people like Ed Black and some others, perhaps Dave should rethink the process and stop people from commenting as Anonymous.

Perhaps anonymous is only one person?
