Okeechobee Entrance

I love the nice little curvy walkway and the colorful benches that have been put in near the Okeechobee entrance just before your reach South Drive. It really looks great, very inviting.
Thank you.

Hi Chris:

I usually use the East gate
but tomorrow I will use
the west gate and look at
the walkway and the benches. Thanks for telling us.

At least 3 sets of green benches have appeared, shady trees to follow in the wet season. Last year bus stop benches appeared all around CV. We are the sitting capital of Palm Beach County. CV will be able to have new advertising. “Come to Century Village set and whittle a spell.”

St. Pete was known as the city of Green Benches (many years ago) The entire downtown main street had a green bench about every 50 feet. The saying back then was

This is where the senior citizens come to

Sit, Knit, and Spit

It's one thing to have benches. Quite another to see people using them. I thought it bizarre to see the 7 turquoise benches @ Dover. For a month or so on our daily walk, we never saw anyone on them. Wouldn't it make more sense to scatter them about FACING the walkway & not the street (so as not to confuse them with bus benches!) so that the daily walkers could sit in them on their 2 mile loop on the perimeter road? Grouping benches in one area is peculiar. Obviously they are not going to be used to congregate at or a place for conversation starters amongst strangers. Maybe I'm missing something here.
