Larry also said that UCO will meet with Comcast on the changes. Comcast is widely advertising that cable subscribers don't have to do anything to deal with the change, which is untrue, and is a breach of our contract. This should give give UCO an excuse to reopen the contract and get concessions such as the move of C-span 2 to below the 100 mark and perhaps adding C-span 3 and getting turner classic movies. It's woth a try.

Whether the changes being made by Comcast violate the contract only the lawyers can determine and I am not sure that another legal action is in order. Comast has already received comments from various places relative to the C Span 2 move. Hopefully UCO can come up with a program that allows all of our residents the most flexibility.

Comcast will continue to send programming in analog format after 2/17/2009. What programming and for how long we do not know right now.

As things come up we intend to keep our residents informed. As those with naval experience might say, we are dealing with some uncharted water here.

VILLAGE RESIDENTS SHOULD FLOOD COMCAST WITH E-MAILS PROTESTING THE C-SPAN 2 MOPVE. U CAN DO THIS BY GOING TO THE COMCAST SITE AND CLICKING THE E-MAIL

It appears that moving C Span 2 has caused the most outrage and yes flooding Comcast with E Mails is a good idea. Please also be advised that Comcast monitors all blogs where the word Comcsat is mentioned.

The decision to move C Span 2 was made at the corporate level in Philadelphia.

Lots of news here. I'll miss Oxygen. I always find great movies on that station.
By premium stations, I am assuming that mean without a box, we will loose 27, 28 and 29? I thought we in the Village had voted to pay a little extra money to have those 3 stations. If so, does that mean our monthly fee will go down?
Thanks Larry.

They put VH-1 on my Oxygen station. I love music but don't ever watch VH-1 or MTV. Don't like that idea much.
But, changes, they are a comin...

Given a choice between classic movies at the clubhouse and classic movies on the cable, I prefer the latter. I hope the Post is reading, and I hope this time they send out Streeter to cover our case!

Chris,
Do not assume anything good or bad except that cable will be 100 percent digital in the very near future. How this all shakes out will be interesting.
