Maybe now, this Administration will change their approach to governing us Villagers. It truly is about time. How unfortunate that well intentioned volunteers find it impossible to remain a volunteer because of philosophical differences with this Administration.
Perhaps all of this damaged team should RESIGN as well. Then all the secret omissions and grandstanding poor judgment will come out…..about time.
That's is my view, now, please share yours!

The previous administration would not answer questions from the floor, kept many secrets from the residents and allowed us to get into a political mess. We have had open and free elections. If you are not happy, put your name on the ballot (again) for the next election and let's see what happens!
Ed did run for office and lost. Twice. It appears that the residents did no subscribe to his ideas or suggestions and probably will not in the future.
It seems that you consistently only have negative comments about this administration. There was a vote, people were elected and you were not. You refer to people in the administration as shills. Do you really expect people to listen to you when you bash and bash. Get over it. People who cry wolf again and again do not get listened to!
Time to move on and deal with realities of life.
It seems to me that many people are very brave under the name anonymous.

Obviously where I see smoke...there is certainly fire.
Try evaluating that fact and realize, someone resigned because of differences with our Presidents procedures. That just ain't hay, my friend.
Please remember, I continue to be unashamed of my views and continue to use my real name....anonymous was approved, but you could enlighten us as to your ID, if you have the courage, when personally bashing me. I don't post hiding my ID...why do you?
That's my view and we are all entitled to free speach....even those who want to shield their ID.

Ed, You keep making reference to Anonymous as being singular. We are not but are multiple.
Someone resigned because they chose to do so. It just goes to prove that UCO has many independent thinkers and UCO will weather this storm and go on functioning. There is no one that cannot be replaced no matter how good they are.

I do remember when you were a VP of UCO,I must say the only con I had was your interaction with people.All other areas I believe you did what was good for the village.As well as those that shared the board with you.You were elected at the wrong time and judged by a act of nature.....
One day a person is said to be "Mr. Presidents Shill" and the next day the same person is a "well intentioned volunteer".It appears that Mr.Black had a change of heart.
To read an announcement acting as “shill” in no way disregards the many years of Ms. Richland’s unique service to this community, which most of us would praise, as well we should. Change of heart, no.
But the issue of eliminating our Owners rights is more important than one single item. It speaks volumes to the “closed door policy” of the Administration and calls out for our responses.
How is it that you are critical of this messenger but not the Administration’s view that you will henceforth be of no importance to the Administration, as they have disemboweled your rights in this democracy?
How can anyone take you seriously, when you clearly overlooked the ‘big picture’? Perhaps given time you will understand the significance of this outrageous decision, by the Administration. Feel free to return and comment on the issues, for those comments will decide just who we are as a people. Sheep that follow or political activists who require their elected officials to be sensitive to their needs and treat them with the respect we all inherited living in the greatest Country on earth. Those of us who are Veterans, living in Century Village, gave of ourselves for the cause of freedom and we will continue to fight for our rights, but the only way we earn the continuation of those rights, today, is to continue to speak out as our forefathers did.
Failure is NOT an option.

Even then we couldn’t get the treasurer to deliver the specifics mandated by the normal budget process.
Unfortunately, I was a VP, not the Treasurer, Mr. George Loewenstein.
Perhaps you should ask him!
Ed as a UCO VP you had an obligation to be sure things were done properly.
Perhaps you did not do your job well.

Ed Black for UCO President and while at it, Ed Black for Vice President, Ed Black for Treasurer and Ed Black for Secretary.With his knowledge why do we need anybody else?
To speak one’s mind when decisions affecting all of us are made that do not represent the voice of the people, someone must object.
To that end, I willingly participate. As one who worked for UCO both in the investigation unit and as a Vice-President, I speak with knowledge that comes from participating in the trenches, so to speak.
I do not sit by idly commenting without a substantial history of being involved.
I know signing in makes me a target. But I would rather be criticized for my participation rather than for NOT participating. I am disappointed our Elected Executive Board and Officers do not offer their views here. That is the responsibility of each of us.
I will always defend your right to your opinion and would hope you share that same view of mine. We do not need nominations for any seats today, but if we did, I would not run for any position. I believe, based on the divisiveness over the past two years, that professional management is the way to resolve the problems at the all-volunteer level.
At some point perhaps even that subject will receive proper consideration.

How do dictators get started? By closing the records...by closing the meetings...by allowing only those who agee with the dictator to participate....by pertetuating the regime and by bashing and stomping any opposition so anyone else is afraid to stand and be counted. Most of the criticism of the "past admin." was created by this group to get into office and has become the convenient way to pass off any problems created by the new faction. I was a member of that administration and I resent being told we withheld info or did not relate what was going on. I, for one, reported in the UCO newspsper and also the Delegate Assembly on a monthly basis. My office was also open to anyone who wanted to discuss anything with me. We all worked hard through 3 hurricanes. That we even care enough to try to alert the village on problems we feel that people need to pay attention to is amazing. Hurrah for Phyllis in finally walking away. If the village doesn't catch on soon that there is a problem here, you will be duped again just as you were with the $2000 each of you were supposed to receive. You didn't listen to us then but hopefully will now. Maybe if it had a $2000 price tag on the problem, it would garner some attention. You should thank Ed Black for being a watch dog and letting you know what is going on. Oh well, no good deed ever goes unpunished.
