I am checking the blog while I am away and glad to hear that 63 is up and running again. The music may have to wait until someone from Comcast can come it to find the problem.

The re-broadcast of the Delegates meeting of July 11 at 9 am and 6 pm should have a wake up effect on the delegates and the people of Century Village. Like sheep in a freight car being carried to slaughter, some of them go ba ba ba.
.
It is incomprehensible that after the performance that Howard Silver gave at the 7-11 meeting with the then president of UCO on standby without opening his mouth and when they did not get the tyranny they were aiming for, they resigned their positions; and on this day, had the unmitigated gall to enter their names in a nomination process for the position they had just resigned from. What is even more mind boggling is that some delegates lent their names to  the nomination process for these two despots.
.
Let's hear it for the DEMOCRATIC PROCESS that these two so desperately tried to kill.

A number of those seconds did this out of wanting to maintain a relationship. Either a position at the office, chair of committee, captain of ushers, etc. you get the picture. Self-serving reasons certainly did not stop some from even considering the poor behavior of the those two on 7-11-08. “If you don't like it there's the door”.

We get what we deserve, don't we.

From the Desk of Vice President Howard Silver
What happened at the Delegates Meeting was like something out of a horror movie, when a certain crowd got so wild and didn’t respect the law and order of our UCO meeting.
It was my turn to run the Delegate Meeting and as a Vice President, I wanted to honor and introduce the different committees and volunteers in our Village and to tell you what they do for CV. I wanted to thank them for all their hard work and ask for more volunteers.
I also wanted to tell everyone how the new building was coming along and how proud I am to be part of it. A group of dissenters tried to change an open meeting by-law that was already in place. After all the wild yelling and screaming, I had to stop my introduction of the volunteers.
The new resolution was then discussed and voted upon. The new resolution makes it difficult for officers to make important decisions that must be made at a moment's notice. It means that we first must give notice that a meeting is going to take place (day, time and location), and post an agenda about the meeting. It must be posted within 48 hours of the meeting. What a joke! As a result, they won, but they lost two officers — President George Loewenstein and myself.
I have been with UCO nine years and seen it all. One President told us we have to sign the Millennium Agreement or we will not be allowed in the Clubhouses. One President told me I have to fire a volunteer because he wrote a nasty letter about her. One President told me that I could not go into the old Clubhouse, which was being renovated; as an Elected Officer, I had the right to see what was going on and maybe I could have seen the mistakes that were made.
Now let me tell you about George Loewenstein. In five years, he has saved the Village in excess of $125,000. If you know of anyone else who has done that, please let me know. What have you loudmouths done for the Village?
In my two-and-a-quarter years as Vice President, not one officer at any time yelled at anyone or insulted any resident. I’m proud of what we accomplished for UCO.
I was the one who put Channel 63 on the air. It was my baby. It has come a long way.
It is time to go when 117 Delegates told me to shut up and gave me no respect as a Vice President of UCO. I'm moving on to better things where people will appreciate my doings.

You can post Howard Silver's explanation of his rabid behavior on 7/11 at the delegate meeting, captured on tape, over and over again; it will not change the fact that he is a giant size jerk. I will make a prediction...he will not see himself as VP of UCO again.

There is no honor in men that would put the community through all this turmoil. What was the purpose of resigning Howie and George? Pathetic

Poetic justice for H. Silver!

Channel 63, your baby, is now biting you in the ass.
