Mike,

ARTICLE VI (UCO BYLAWS)

OFFICERS.

Any vacancy of an elected office occurring before the expiration of a term shall be filled by the President on an emergency basis.

In the event that the vacancy is in the Office of President, such vacancy shall be filled by a majority of the remaining Officers’ Committee Members.

The filling of any vacancy in office must be approved at the next meeting of the Delegate Assembly at which a quorum is present.

In the alternative, an election by the Delegate Assembly shall be held to fill the vacancy. Such officer shall serve for the un-expired term of the seat being filled.

After this mornings delegate meeting I had to go to the UCO office. The office was functioning as normal. People were coming in for information, investigations, gate passes and transponder appointments. Residents were calling in for information and information was being given. Three officers were present.

From the UCO office I went to attend two committee meetings that were scheduled. Both committee chairs and members were in attendance , as were three officers, and the business of committee ,UCO and the village went forward. The officers vacancies will be filled in the proper manner and UCO will continue to function.
This is just another chapter in the book. UCO and the village is fortunate to have many qualified people who will step into the breach.UCO is fortunate to have qualified members of the executive board and qualified committee chairs that will assist the present and future officers in the business that is UCO. Will there be problems to solve in the future? Yes and they will be solved and some day in the future we will all look back at events of today and say-we got through it OK.

Larry, your comment does not surprise me. What would we do without the wonderful volunteers that are working hard for all of us. I appreciate each and every one of them. Bless them all.

This episode may be another reason to obtain professional management for our community. Cost per unit should be low, and politics would be eliminated, resulting in a more efficient and content community.

Who were the people who wanted to run for President in the last ‘election’? I never knew anyone else had applied until recently. The election nominating cmte, appointed by the incumbent GL refused all energetic aspiring applicants, leaving only the incumbent and one person who was not interested in campaigning. That was a default not an election.
