I have just finished reading the new UCO reporter and I think it is the best issue I have seen in 3 years. There is a spirit of cooperation, no bashing, some fun jokes. I am not a real poetry fan but the one on page 28 by Suzanne Cohen is wonderful. Tales from the cold war by Dave Israel just confirms to me how little I know about what is actually going on in the world. Stu Richland's How old is old, is interesting and thought provoking. The Village of Hopes by "The Villager" talks about all the good things that happen here in the Village.
I do not like many of the "added fees" that Jeff Koons talks about. $1.00 each to take a book out of the library, Fees for some of our wonderful county parks. These are the things that families can do that are free. Free helps the average man who can barely afford gas and food still have some fun with their family. I take ten books at a time from the library 2-3 times a month. I would stop using and would miss greatly. I do not use Palm Tran or Tri-rail but increasing their fees would again hurt the people who are just trying to get by. I understand that the county has real money problems but these fees will hurt the little man the hardest. I wish I could come up with a sound suggestion for making up these shortfalls but I can't. I would suggest that politicians at all levels that are convicted of fraud should lose their pensions and benefits. That is what would happen to us if we stole from our company and got fired.

What UCO Reporter! have they gone back to old delivery system or are we still on the maybe 4 evening spread of delivery?

The Reporter staff doesn't think of anyone as a "nobody." The reason for late deliveries was a new system suggested to deliver the papers. It apparently failed. The editors went back to the regular system and so far this issue is doing well. Part of the problem is that a few of the associations and/or federations do not pick up their bundle of papers from the UCO office, as they have done for the past 20 years. Talk to the president of your association. Suggest they look for someone to pick up the entire bundle as is required. Some of the associations and/or federations pay someone to pick up their bundles and bring them to a central point for your association to pick up their papers. Ask around and you will be enlightened. Have faith. I have.
The new suggested system didn't work?? Why is that?? Where's the explanation??Why weren't the people notified that the system was changed back???
Change your requirements for pickup. Let each association pick up their own papers.Remember your advertisers.
If UCO considers the Reporter to be their official method of communication, then it is UCO's responsibility to have the paper delivered to every unit.

How could the newspaper paying for delivery not work out "apparently failed". If you hire someone competent, deliveries would be made properly. Everyone happy! No?
Where or where is the alusive
"Reporter"? It's not in the UCO
office, nor Club House, Hastings
or in our mail box slot!

"the guy" who handles it is not in.
when I asked when he would be was given instructions to " call
him tomorrow am", at another #
and then I asked for his name...
whom I recognized as the Editor.
Is he responsible for distribution
as well? I do recall new arrange-

Did Channel 63 say ‘Time to Go Get your Reporters’ couldn’t hurt? Do you know if your area volunteer is in town?
Is there a detailed explanation of going back to whatever system in the UCO Reporter itself, couldn’t hurt?
Considering that the UCO Reporter is our main source for news it is not encouraging that they cannot communicate their distribution system. You wouldn’t know this was the information age would you!
It could be worse than the County Commissioners charging you a dollar to take out a book from the library.
