We're not the only community the cable company's messing with. From today's Post:

Comcast errs in moving CSPAN2 to digital tier

In the most recent revision of the channel lineup it provides to my community west of Boynton Beach, Comcast has substituted in its basic service shallow, celebrity-driven 'E' in place of serious, thought-provoking CSPAN2, which carries U.S. Senate proceedings and on weekends Book TV. CSPAN2 has been consigned to a "digital tier," which requires a box that is available only at an additional charge.

The customer service answer to a complaint about the deterioration of service - which surely violates the spirit, if not the letter, of the agreement by which CSPAN2 carries Senate sessions - claims that a rise in the fees Comcast pays to sustain the industry public service commitment embodied in C-Span makes the charge for CSPAN2 necessary. In other words, to protect the profitability of a private corporation, access to the U.S. Senate is available to those who happen to live in my neighborhood only if they pay ransom.

In how many satraps of the vast Comcast cable empire is this going on? Or are we in South Florida guinea pigs in an experiment to determine how much Comcast can get away with?

It hard to know the right way to go with this one. We had to dump Bellsouth DSL and go to Comcast in our building for internet as the copper wiring was too degraded to keep a consistent DSL signal. I hear bad reports from friends with the Dish Network. I guess it will be the lesser of all the evils to choose from.

I HAD DISH - "YOU" DO NOT WANT IT - PLEASE BELIEVE THAT !!! ASK OTHER, *FORMER* DISH USERS FOR INPUT - IT IS THE WORST, BY FAR !!!

How is COMCAST "messing" with us ???

Cable TV has become to us no matter
where you live a commodity we want
and need, yes even if we have the
internet, its has basic has our utilities, however there are listings ex. if I had to pay extra
to see a sport event even thou I am
a urge fan (NFL), I would not pay
for it,and we as customers just
want a good and fair resolution
and knowing they have to meet
the bottom line, so do we in our
situation in this period of our lives, I know the committie will
convey the same to Comcast, best
to all who are working for CV.
Lets drink more and let Budwiser
pay for it!!!!!!!!!!!!

That is quite a bit of standard Boilerplate; can you make your question(s) a bit more specific?
