Should be most unattended meeting ever. No sandwich boards at gates, no signs on bulletin boards, no info at CH guard desk . Why the hustle to get it in November?

Hi A Nony Mouse
Nov 20, 2008 12:28:00 PM,

The immediate concern is a 5% increase in the Cable fee on Jan. 1, 2009, with no upgrade in service.

Then, we need maximum lead time in the event that Comcast will not behave and we need to go to another provider.

Isn't the 5%, in the contract ???

Hi Capt. John
Nov 20, 2008 4:56:00 PM,

Yes indeed, the contract allow an increase of "up to" 5% in a calendar year; Comcast has always jumped for the maximum of 5%.

Now they exercise the 5% while continuing to degrade content; what a nice deal for Comcast, while we pay more, they provide less.

Comcast need a lesson in good old American fair play.

Unfortunately, I "think" it will be "WE" - who gets the lesson (IN FACT, I AM SURE OF IT) !!!

But, as I've said ...

(ps: there is NO LONGER, ANY SUCH THING, AS "GOOD OLD AMERICAN FAIRNESS", IF THERE EVER WAS !!!)

Isn't 5% = .37 cents a week ???

(YEAH, I KNOW - PEOPLE WILL DIE FROM LACK OF MEDICATION or HAVE TO EAT DOG FOOD - ESPECIALLY THOSE WITH 3 TV's - DUH !!!)

Despite Loewenstein claims of notice, my bldg and the 2 on either side did not have any notice on their bulletin boards, also same bldg delegates did not receive email notice.

Our building never gets any notices of meetings. I did not know of this meeting until it was well underway as I did not have time on Thursday to check into the Blog. I also do not have time to watch channel 63 to see what is happening because it takes soooo long. Who has the time? What was the outcome of the meeting, please.

Hi Grace
Nov 22, 2008 9:40:00 AM,

Clearly many did not get notification of this meeting. I believe that UCO committed to post notice on the BB at Hastings and on channel 63 if time allows, I think they did both.

They did not commit to noticing on every BB in the Village. This entails quite a bit more effort.

This should be raised at the Delegate Assembly, or directly with UCO
-----
As for the Joint Session; there was no quorum of the Delegate Assembly, but there was a quorum of the Executive Board.

The Executive Board voted to sign a contract with Communications Solutions Inc. (CSI).

Since there was no quorum of the Delegate Assembly; in accordance with UCO Bylaws, the vote of the Executive Board stands.

The contract was subsequently signed at UCO
at about 11:15am after the joint session ended.

If UCO called an extraordinary joint session of the Executive Board and the Delegate Assembly then it was their duty and obligation to notify ALL the delegates by whatever means necessary to ensure that all the delegates had a vote on this matter. The usual trick or treat ( you weren't here and the Executive Board decided for you) under no circumstances should be allowed to stand.

This could have waited until the next scheduled delegate meeting.

What was your rush, other than deceiving the people once again and getting your way.

There is a LOT of money to be made, "DECEIVING THE PEOPLE" !!!
