Hi All,
Soon discussions will begin with CSI (Communications Solutions, Inc.)
The purpose of these discussions will be to craft an RFP (Request for Proposal).
The RFP will be presented to all potential Providers of TV and Broadband Services; each of which will be asked to bid for the rights to provide services to CV Unit Owners.
This BLOG is to request your ideas as to what you would like the CV entertainment service package to look like:
What channels, INTERNET, Village wide WiFi, foreign language channels, out of state channels, Canada channel...Etc...??
Think globally, and imaginatively; help your Cable Committee to put together the best possible package at the lowest possible price.

Dave: TCM and Internet access, please.
Hi David, Thinking about the future, we should definitely negociate for a package that includes Village wide internet access, telephone service and obviously TV by cable or satellites.
The basic package could look like the existing one but recognizing the diversity taking place in the Village and the growing number of snowbirds from Canada, New England States, South America and Europe, specific channels adressing their needs should be included. Therefore channels in spanish, French and English Canada, France, Germany and Italia are a must.
Sports and movie channels are also appreciated as many people are homebound.
As a Montreal Canadian hockey fan the local sport channel RDS is a must...Go Habs Go..so are soccer channels for the Europeans while not overlooking ESPN for American Football, Basketball and Baseball.
As good Floridians, the Golf channel is also a must. Thanks for asking David. Andre
Village wide internet access, would be nice if possible. Also TV and phone. Most companies throughout the US usually gives a great deal for all three. I think a basic package is what most people would be interested in. Of course, there should always be an option for specific channels that people enjoy for their own individual tastes. Your committee is doing an excellent job...Keep up the good work..You are all appreciated!
Presently are we paying (1) price
for cable as a CV community? what I see in print now is that we no longer will be doing this for ex.
including those mention each would be an added charge, if Internet was included those without have to Pay?, a canadian station?
Italian station? is that the intent
I don't believe it 's the solution as a CV group Package, it could be down to individual Billing Dave please clarify this. Basic = CV prices all other add on's= Unit owners pricing?
Living in a community is not easy. You have to sacrifice some of your freedom and pay for things you do not use i.e.:
a)Bus service which seems to be used by no more than 1/4 of the residents;
b)Pools: Same as above;
c)Clubhouse, shows and gym; Same thing..
d) Tennis, petanque, sailing etc
In a nutshell all residents have to pay for things they do not use and others have to pay for services they use.
Internet was not there when CV was born nor satellite TV, nor telephone over internet.The population mix was quite different also.
The world is changing so should the common services. Thank you. Andre
I would like a proper high speed internet special CV price, not the current Comcast semi-high speed that results in stuttering videos. That would encourage more CV’ers to switch to Comcast internet.
Village wide Wifi good too.
Cable - I prefer same 74 stations, free box if that’s what it takes.
Dave we have a large latino community here. How about some premium spanish language channels. But above all, FREE WIRELESS INTERNET
I would like to have channels (plural) where operas and classical music performances are shown. The C-Span channels are invaluable. If we get those HBO movie channels again, I wish there wouldn't be so much repetition: the same movie night after night after night. This is shortchanging us. The history channel is great. Just some of my personal preferences.....
porn would be good
Hi David, I saw you post and I work with a Private Cable Operator in Florida who may be interested in bidding on the RFP when it is issued by CSI.
Could you please send my your address and the contact for CSI so that I could receive a copy of the RFP when it is ready for release?
