To this very day, I continue to receive calls from upset CV Unit Owners about the removal of channels from our Cable service. The most bitter complaints are in regard to the removal of the Catholic EWTN (Eternal Word Television Network).
It may not be generally know just how egregious and coercive this action was; because, in fact the EWTN costs Comcast nothing, as the channel is subsidized by donations:

2b. How is EWTN financed?
EWTN is donor-based. It is financed entirely by donations from its viewers, listeners, supporters, and benefactors. There are no shares, no invested funds, and EWTN receives no advertising or syndication income.
Mother Angelica founded the network relying on Divine Providence, and this mode of operation continues to this day.
2c. Does EWTN charge for its services?
EWTN does not charge for its services. All its satellite signals are "free to air", that is, available at no cost. It offers its programme transmissions free directly to the viewer, as well as to cable operators, broadcast television and radio stations.

As for Comcast, we can only hope that they find their conscience and treat our Senior Citizens properly in the future, if they are still here - in future!

As long as the politicians allow them to monopolize the system, why should they have shame? Write and call your elected US Senators and Congressman. Harrass the hell out of those scumbags. Mike
You can get EWTN and all the other channels for $5 a month by getting a converter box from Comcast. Might be worthwhile until a new contract is negotiated.
Dave in another post weeks ago I stated this is more than a business service to us it is as
important, as being classified as a utility,, used for our entertainment, news ,sports, etc. etc. I also stated they are in business to make profit(what a noble concept), they by taking channels out yes I did watch Mother Angelica's EWTN, I would
hope it would be reenstated?
Where is there Rep. he use to respond to us? I am hopeing by our going thru a different communication CSI has diminished
the outlet we had with them. I also will like to print we cannot make a mistake on this one?
It is unfortunate at times we have all these situation that come to be, let us remember this is not a personal thing it affects all customers yes they have an enormouse amt. of cash from CV,
what I am trying to convey be firm fair and try to resolve these issues. Mike you could be right , but we send them back year after year, look at the senate floor when they group , they been there (20-30-40) years yes at times causing not solving problems.
