Haverhill Gate, Transponder lane..

While doing some last minute shopping for NY Eve., on my return, encountered a
long line of auto's in the Guest lane, some crossing over from the transponder lane..
Thinking they too, were unhappy with the "bump & hump, or is it Hump & Bump"?
as I crawled closer, it became obivious......The transponder lane, was shut down.....
someone, zoomed through, breaking the arm.......once more... Undoubtly, the occurances have been reduced, but NOT eliminated....certainly hope the fines have
now been substantially increased, and the excess ( after the repairs ) monies put
into a fund, to offset damages to private autos of residents, who in time, will begin
legal action... Other issues have provoked legal action, could this be far behind?

Go to it, girl! Maybe the powers (that be?) will understand that this destroys our suspension systems and our axels and, our backs. When the back wheels go over the bump, those of us with back problems really feel it. At those moments, the thoughts in our mind are not pleasant, and if they aren't changed soon, the longer the unpleasant thoughts stay, they surely will affect our voting decisions.

How someone could "zoom through" is beyond me; that is of course without breaking their spine and suspension. What a ridulous situation this has turned into.
When time comes to vote, I will surely be talking to my building officers, asking them to NOT vote for the powers that are in office now. Obviously, they don't give a darn about us or our concerns.

Maybe at the next delegate meeting(Jan 9th) All the delegates should voice their opinions and call for a vote to have it removed by UCO?????? Delegates to have POWER still.

Thinking about the next election...what a great idea! Surely it would be great if someone would run on a no-bump platform. I will start now the people in my association to get our delegates to support us.

I wonder if the following idea is both pracical and cost productive:

Insteadof speedbumps, install a red/green light immediately precedibg the gate arm. This may be an overly simplistic approach, but and option worth exploring. Any gate arms destryed from proceding through a red light wold be subject ot a summons issues by the Sheriff's Office, requiring an incident report. Those who leave the scence of an accident would be charged accordingly , a police report filed, and their individual insurance companies notified of the particulars. The enforcementof such a plan would require approval of Sheffiff's Department and the Department of Transportation.

Additionally, this official documentation may assist in identifying those drivers who are "no longer qualified" to operate a motor vehicle. certification from the

Great idea Randall. Sounds like a winner to me.

If and when this approach has to be considered , it is time to use the ID gate only entrance. Why,
(a) do you for instance think that a law is going to be put on the books concerning traffic lights so a gate possibly won't be broken?
(b) the Sheriff's Dept. has priorities this being the least?
(c) No more decal entrances, both gates manually, install booth at other gate. Now if the breaking of gate arm's and possible mechanical problems came to be, to put up this unpractical BUMP, and cause this uproar, then all ID entrances is the only solution , no more bump at the entrance?" OR " fine those who break the gate $100.00 or to be humane forget about find and take the privledge away and they must use the Security Lane.
Forever and ever yes for ever and ever! Take the Bump away and take the privledge away .
We pay for this but it still could be considered a privledge.

I have a back problem and now have to use the guest gate to enter the village. May times I have to wait in line for some time. Can't something else be done about the speed bump? Who are the powers to be to correct this matter? Do we have to vote on it? Remember we are each getting older and it's not good for our backs. Maybe we are using the wrong kind of speed bump.

2 Charlie K: U ask who are D powers that B? U can't B serious. Just think carefully & it will come 2 U who they are. Come 2 a delegate meeting. They are sitting on stage avoiding any talk about D bump. Why? They are against reducing D bump. It's anyone's guess. It could B just a crave 4 power, just that simple.

I have been hearing about this speed bump for month... injured backs and necks...ruined automobile suspensions etc.

I had envisioned it as some kind of huge log from the forest or something

Last week, when I finally got to SEE the mount everest of all speed bumps I laffed my ass off! And on that same day that I showed up somebody whacked the gate again and everyone had to go through the left lane.
