Congratulations to all who participated in the creation of this fund and I hope that it will be successfull in meeting its objectives of helping those in the need for food or money.
I will bring to my Association a resolution to give some money to your fund.
Lately we heard that 10% of CV residents are late in their payments to WPRF. Is that true?
Also some budget items like Beautification were put on hold by UCO because some Associations are not paying their full dues on time. Is that true also?

Is there no end to the depths you will drop to exploit the good intentions and basic humanity of the unit owners of CV ??
We are going to give money to Levy and when he has collected 3 million of our charity dollars, he is going to (maybe ) give the interest money to a poor deserving relative of Levy ??

Is there any truth to a
rumor that "Freida" and
others who like her need
financial help that the
only reason they need help
is because they give all
their money to their kids,
relatives, etc. and then
cry poverty.
Women who worked in the time when women could only get clerical poorly paid jobs, now may receive $400 social security/mnth. They do not pretend to be poor.
Those magazine articles that say average SS is $1K a month are bunk for a community like ours.
Andre I have a fragment of an answer for you. WPRF has postponed some items because of budget shortfall from non-payments. Items like new pool chairs and new sailboats.

Commenting on several of the Comments: (1) From what I hear, it IS true that many more owners are in arrears on their WPRF payments. (2) I am sorry it wasn't made clearer that "Frieda" was a fictitious person, her circumstances, though, being typical of some of those in financial need in the Village. (3) It is undoubtedly true, as Nutmegger suggests, that there are some who are in need because they have given so much money to relatives. Not every person who applies for assistance from the CV Fund will be found eligible. There will be a careful screening process—not 100% perfect, of course (nothing is)—but we hope effective. This is part of the "Intake" procedure, which we will describe for you later, perhaps on the CV Fund BLOG and in the May UCO Reporter article.
Anonymous 10:58, have you never noticed that there isn't anybody on this blog that knows how to be kind to others? The nature of this blog is to slander others and to puff up their own chests. They're all here to bow down and kiss Israel's feet. Makes him feel important. It's actually hilarious, that's why I come here to read. I always get a few laughs. These people are so full of themselves.
Century Village is basically an insane asylum. You people do not know the reality of the world. You people are so wrapped up in proving that you are not insane, that you will "help" someone even if it kills them.
I give to the United Way. I help my neighbor IF HE ASKS, and yes I give money to the bums on the corner so they can buy cheap wine.
I'm normal....you people are not.

I for one cannot believe that CV has become a collector for Levy and Co.
If you want to help people in distress give to legimate agencies such as , The Salvation Army, Red Cross, Care, and many other organizations that we all know as legitmate.
If Levy needs a collector or charity let him do his own homework.
It amazes me how you all have been so critical of the law suit. My only criticism is that we didn't go all the way.
In fact I'm sure that we backed off partly because Levy's allies were creating a lot of unnecessary doubt as to the legitimacy of the suit.
Be more constructive and less critical.
Perhaps your time will come to lead and hopefully at that time you will receive a different point of view from your adversaries.
