Car Accident Thursday, July 2nd Handicapped South Parking

I am asking for the help of all who read this Blog who may have witnessed this accident in the parking lot or who may have a neighbor whose front of the car has been recently pushed in, since Thursday. Carol arrived at the clubhouse and entered our meeting room at 12:30PM as I was sitting on the side of the front door to greet prospective members or new members coming in for their badges. I looked at the clock when she arrived to see what time it was. Carol came in very happy introducing her friend as she walked. During the meeting she was asked to leave and go outside. She came back to get her friend. Her car was no longer it it's handicapped spot but in the middle of the road facing south. It had been hit in the front as you can see and pushed into the road. Carol's steering wheel would have been sutned from coming into the spot or it would have been pushed straight out. A police officer accused her of knocking the sign down in front of where she was parked and then backed up and left her car in the middle of the road and calmly went in to her meeting. Carol is not a calm per under stress. The officer took her friend aside to find out what happened as she did not believe Carol and then turned around and pointed at Carol and said, you know what happeded, tell me. George Lowenstein and Anita Cruz were there and were quite upset that Carol had knocked down the sign. I was not there but know Carol and the next day she was still pretty shakey from the experience of being grilled by the officer. I went with Carole from our club to take pictures of her car at the shop and in the parking lot. Too bad I did not see where the sign had fallen after the accident. The 2 pictures tell a story. One shows a small piece of Carol's grill and the other shows how the sign fell. The grill piece and other small pieces are on Carol's spot. The bit of the sign that is left show that the sign was knocked down from the opposite facing side and the broken off part was dragged on the tar and over the blue barrier and onto Carol's hood. At 1:20 a woman reported that Carol hit her back bumper and at that time wanted $1,000. for damages. Carole was in a meeting at 1:20 with all in the room to see. I believe that the woman was parked in a spot with Carol in the middle of the road and instead of going to get a guard to get the car, Carol's, out of the way of getting her car out of the spot proceeded to back up and scrapped her bumper on Carol's back bumper as Carol has a white rub on her bumper. I think if Carol had hit her the rub would of Carol's paint would be on the white Chevy not the Chevy's paint on Carol's car just as someone else's paint seems to be on the front of Carol's car. As well Carol's friend told Carol on the way from the insurance office after the accident that she smelled smoke. Since Carol's car was in park I believe she either has transmission damage or damage to her brake due to being forced back. I cannot understand an officer not seeing what the evidence seems to show, she was just interested in getting Carol to confess her crime. Please, take the time to look at your neighbor's cars to see if they have damage or if a car is in for repairs. I think someone wanted to step on the brake on instead stepped on the gas, went over the blue barrier hit the sign down and over the next barrier and into Carol's car and panicked and fled. They may also have scraped the bottom of their car on the barrier as there seems to be a small gouge out of the barrier that still looks clean.

I think the cop saw it was a Century Village driver and assumed the rest.

It is simple. Parked car in a handicapped spot was hit by a car that jumped over their barrier, hit the handicapped sign and pushed it into and pushed Carol's car back into the middle of the road. Carol says that the sign finally fell to the left of her backed up car. ( Actually pushed by the car that hit the sign and ran) A woman parked in the handicapped behind Carol in the middle of the road wanted out and backed up her white '96 Chevy rubbing up against Carol's back bumper and then claimed that Carol hit her. The police office kept blaming Carol for the accident and George Lowenstein as well. In fact, Carol is the victim in this mess with damage to her car and probably her transmission when her car was forced back. All the ground evidence points to another car or probably van or SUV that has a lot of front damage to it. It would be a car, van or SUV with a handicapped license plate.
Thanks Elaine!

Assuming by Carol You mean Szepesi,
she is getting repaid for all the bad things she has done to the people of c.v., to the bulletin board, etc.
More, please.

If the car was hit by another car and the car being hit was in park without a passenger.....where are the rubber scuff marks from the tires when the car was allegedly pushed away from where it was originally parked.

What do you think Watson?

Carol yep she did it she was going to be late for her little club so she was driving like a bat out of HELL and POW she parked her car got out put her hands in her front pockets put the head up (WIG FELL OFF) and off she went to DONKEY PUNCH her club into sitting down

No it was not Carole. Carole has done nothing to the people of CV. She is a great president of the computer club and is trying to help Carol figure out what happened. I know nothing about a bulletin board but we all have a great blog and don't even have to put our names to the filth that some of us write.

Hi all,
There are no video surveillance devices in or around the Clubhouse.

The testimony of those directly involved is rarely accurate, that is, it tends to be self serving; if this issue ever went to Court, the greatest weight would be given to the responding PBSO Officer's report.

It is very doubtful that such a "fender bender" would require the response of a Detective.

The physical signs are clear; the VW standing in the road in Park, no patches of rubber to reflect the "supposed" pushing back of the vehicle.

Once again, lacking reliable witnesses, and observing the remaining artifacts at the site, and the photographs provided by Grace; I conclude that the responding PBSO officer called the accident correctly.

Elementary my dear Watson!

Hi Capt. John
Jul 7, 2009 2:08:00 AM,

Hmmm! Insurance fraud, as yet not in evidence, is an interesting twist.

PBSO call; VW driver at fault.
See VW in main Post. It all points that way.

So, who drove the car? Carol and her passenger in the clubhouse at time of accident. Carol has keys in her purse.

Hi Dave. I was also confused about there being no tire marks on the road. On Thursday it was pouring rain and I am told by a reliable source that when it is raining as it was the car tires would have been able to skid on the water and not leave marks. He also feels that Carol has transmission problems now and her passenger (witness) told her she smelled smoke after the accident, not before. How do you explain the rub on the tar going towards where Carol was parked by the bottom of the sign. The width of the rub is the width of the sign. By the way the rub is less since we have had the rain but I took pictures of it. It was quite dark when I took the first picture. What insurance fraud? Florida has no fault insurance. Her company would py if it was her fault or not. She will just get a hefty raise next year. By the way the tire prints on the other side of the blue barrier and on Carol's side were made because the tires would have burned on the paint. There was quite a bit of rubber left on the other left side of the barrier. I don't believe that the tire tread on Carol's car will match the tread on the barriers. I have close ups of those.

Hi Grace,
Jul 7, 2009 8:48:00 AM,

I humbly submit that you have no idea whatsoever what time the accident actually occurred.

Think about it for a minute.

Hi Grace
Jul 7, 2009 9:18:00 AM,

I'll give you one point for the wet road.

Now please explain why the VW was in the road, front wheels pointing straight ahead with gear shift in Park, as witnessed by a member of our Security team?

I'll tell you why; it was backed up and parked there, after smashing into the parked SUV. If this hypothesis is correct; it constitutes a Prima-Facie Insurance Fraud case.

Also, No-Fault is about payment; but if Carol is FTB at fault, and if, she has any previous accidents, her Premium will go thru the ceiling; if indeed she can get insurance renewal at all.

Hi Dave,
If I turn my wheel left to go into a parking spot and don't straighten out my steering wheel then when I am pushed my car will be pushed back the way I came in and be turned around facing, in this case south. If the SUV pushed her just enough so they could then go out forward then Carol's car would not have continued to be turned into a full circle or hit the car beside her in the turn. Carol is still so shaken by the event that she could not have come into the meeting as care free as she did.
