I added digital classic tier when i registered and have been getting all the channels until now -including the encore and the HBO ---and why would channel 48 disappear on me? I had asked for Starz/ they gave me HBO and I didn't care -but now zip!

Saturday I was watching 29, Food Channel in bedroom with the box. I moved into the living room, no box and no channel 29, 39 and 63. After waiting over 30 minutes to speak with a service person, then waiting while she checked, I was then told we no longer got them. Sunday Roseann Accardi, our rep phoned me to see if I had all that I was supposed to get as her records showed I was still waitiing for installation I told her about the stations and yes I was fully installed. She said she would check and phone me back. I went into the living room to make sure we still did not have the channels and low and behold, they were back. Comcast really does not have knowledgeable service people or enough with long waits to talk to someone and their service is just not up to snuff. The picture constantly breaks up on different stations due to the pixils and will only get worse as they move over more channels to digital. It depends on the signal they are sending out and or faulty equipment on our end.

Sometimes the blog comments strike my funnybone. First today was the Nutmegger's "I was watching the fix-up Dr. Phil" (under Disappearing Channels). Nutmegger has that deadpan New England sense of humor. Then there was Dave's "picky, picky, picky" above. A little mirth is good for the soul.

SOLUTION:

TAKE THE CABLE FEED FROM THE BACK OF THE SET TOP BOX AND PLUG IT DIRECTLY INTO YOUR TV.

Take the box to your lawyer and have him sue Dave for sheer stupidity.

Dear Anonymous, Dave got us a great deal even if we are having problems at the beginning. Remember there is a great deal of money attached to our deal and some of it went to pay off our rebuilt UCO office so there is less money that we owe. As well some of the cable costs will be paid for out of the rest of the money. All cable companies will have the same digital breaking up problems. That is the nature of the beast. People like you are never satisfied. Please send your cable box back to Comcast if you no longer want it. You can order a dish to be put on your patio and see what you get when there is a thunder storm.

Comcast tech was here, he was concerned with 'tiling' on ch 43 and 66. I call it pixelation and glitchiness, I told him it was noticeable after 6pm. He will bring it up with comcast today (head end problem at least since June 16.) Stay tuned.

Grace,
See what happens when we get a thunder strom. If you have cable or a dish, the outcome will be the same. The other day there was no storm and the cable went out. If only for a few minutes, but expect it.

As for the money that was spent, why didn't we just leave well enough alone. There really isn't much to watch on TV as it is, so why confuse us all with boxes and remotes and losing the picture or the sound.

Somebody made money on this deal and for sure it wasn't us or was it?

Mr. Israel did get a good deal.
Unfortunately not for us, but for the Comcast.
I wonder, how much he got paid by the Comcast for screwing up the people of the c.v. for the next 10 years.

Hi A Nony Mouse
Jul 16, 2009 10:40:00 PM,

Dave will get paid the same amount that every other unit owner will get paid.
The "payment" will come in the form of paying the mortgage on the new UCO office building and in the form of a significant reduction in our Cable fees for the first year of our contract. We will also "get paid" in the form a significant upgrades to our Channel 63 equipment and contractual Comcast maintenance thereof.

As for the learning pains of the Box and it's remote control; there are many millions of cable boxes in our country and the vast majority of users have no problem learning how to use them.

Yes, there are issues; and in due course they will be addressed.

In the meantime, please send to me, at this Email address:

nsasigint@comcast.net

Your name, your address, your telephone number and a brief description of your problem with the box and your issue will be resolved in due course.

Anonymous said hope that person never runs for office.

I got news for you. Welcome to the real world! What planet are you living on?

Deals are made everyday. Why do you think they are installing the cable boxes? Not for more channels, but to get the people to order more channels and at a price.

Everybody wins. Except the people that live here. GREED! That is today's word. It's all around.
