Low CV Property Values

Nutmeg, I could not find the property article in the library Post , maybe pages were missing. Did the Post say why our property values are so low, was there a cost breakdown, age of developments etc.?

It just means that these condos are relatively cheap to live in that that there is really no increase in value.

Where can one go and say pay $27,000 and live today?

The article was in Monday's
Palm Beach Post. It was
in the section where they
combined Business News with
Local News. The article
started on the front page
and finished on the back
page and you could not miss
it because in bold letters
you read CENTURY VILLAGE.
I was located on the back
page in the lower left
corner of the paper.
I cut the article and
Monday playing bridge at
the Clubhouse I showed
the article to my bridge
partners and one of the
players living at
Southampton B took the
article. Hope this helps
you.

Small wonder. Other complexes do not have unfavorable contracts with
WPRF, Comcast, they have a lot smarter and not money hungry presidents and their flunkies - we actually are paying some old bitch for going to a dinner parties with politicians - what has she done for us in lets say five years except get fat and drunk on our account?

AMEN to that!

CV is an ananchronism (a 1970s recreation lease community). However, if the various Associations will keep after their owners-paint their buildings and take the A/C units off the screen porches- we might be able to maintain some property value. UCO will have to keep the infrastructure also.

We are experiencing a shameful exercise of free speech on this blog. Captain John is the poster child for censorship. Though his perverse rhetoric is obviously not representative of Century Village residents, the old saying may hold true, that "One bad apple spoils the barrel". Something needs to be done to prevent this abomination to continue.

Hi A Nony Mouse
Aug 21, 2009 12:42:00 AM,

I could not agree with you more; Capt. Toxic, not a property owner in our Village, and thus having no "investment" in our society; comes to us, most recently, from Carolina Beach, NC.

There he Duh'ed the local Citizenry with his boastful arrogance and lack of respect.

The "so called" Captain spent some time in the Merchant Marine; thus, he presumes to arrogate unto himself the absurd title of Captain.

While he is not regaling us by polluting this BLOG; he trolls the INTERNET, searching for guns.

We are "deeply honored" by his presence here, and I recommend that we all enjoy the show!!

Captain John is right.

We need to be more active in talking with say the attorney general and tell him our problem and perhaps something will get done.

All this back and forth is a waste of time

The Waldmans are taking advantage of us. That was a golf course and it is land only for a golf course.

A fence needs to be put up and while we are talking it isn't getting done.

To anonymous 5:06 AM,

The Waldman's own the golf course and not Century Village. So how can the Waldmans be taking advantage of Century Village?

The unit owners of Century Village needed to battle when "Levy" sold the golf course after signing a plat map that stated that the golf course would remain a recreational area in perpetuity, including the successors and assignees. If you want to go to battle, make sure you're battling the right person.Going to the attorney general, asking for help, is more of the "something for nothing" that is so prevalent in this village. Why should the taxpayers look out for your interests that was created by your ignorance your laziness.

Ever hear of let the buyer beware??

anon 5:06.

I am a snowbird and I really don't care if they build a circus outside. It is a circus inside so maybe we can have a big top.

Seriously, going to Levy when he sold the land is a big waste of time. He is a powerful man and you can see what happened when we went after him a couple of years ago.

Money talks and BS does certainly walk.

Just get a fence up would appease most of the people here in the village. After all we pay for security, but is really throwing money away if there is no fence.

Thanks everybody, those newspaper pages were missing. IF our buildings are oldest and have least modern conveniences we will be lower prices.

To anonymous snowbird 8:47,

Allow me to point out to you that Bernard Madoff was also considered a powerful man with lots and lots of money. And where is he now.

Anon 8:47

Thee world is full of a lot of Barney Madoff's.

I am not suggesting that Mr. Levy is bad, but money is powerful and all we really want is a closed in fence. Is that so much to ask?

If anybody wanted to come in, it would just make it a little difficult for them.

Then again this is not a place where we can expect any crime. Who would want to come in here?????

Levy has NOTHING to do with the closed golf course or the lack of a fence! The Waldman's own the golf course property.

I know that Levy has nothing to do with the golf course, I was only making a point.

Dave, please note: Keep your eyes open for Jerry Karpf; he's campaigning already. He's not going to add anything positive to UCO or the CV property values.
