Hi All,
We, (the Admins), are trying to figure out why users are not signing up to Post new subjects. To date, only 22 have signed up to do so. It has occured to me that perhaps folks do not like their names listed, so they have been removed (only the publication of names has been stopped; your ability to Post remains intact) . Of course this can be reversed and we would very much appreciate your input on this issue. In the end, this BLOG will rise or fall based on usage volume and New Subjects of interest. It is unlikely that 22 active users can sustain this effort for long.
Please let us know what you think and what we might do to improve the situation.

While I am no way an expert on the subject I do have some thoughts on the subject of poor use of the blog. Number one is the fact that probably no more than 20 percent of our residents have a computer. Of that amount not all of them use the internet.Some people use their computers only for E mail or word processing. There are most likely people who have internet use but would not want to make any comments on a public forum. They made read the thing but do not want to participate.
On the other hand 80 percent of our residents are not computer literate
and as such never get on the internet.There are also residents that have no idea on what goes on in the Village. Perhaps many of our residents are not interested in the subjects or matters brought up on this blog.The majority of our residents may not be a vocal as we might think. We also have a large older population with health problems that takes up most of their energy.And there is the age old problem in the Village-"I do not want to get involved. Let someone else do it."
Thanks Dave. It is nice to hear that the Blog is absolutely free. I thought maybe there had been an upfront cost that you had paid. Everything Larry says makes a lot of sense. But people don't have to give their real names to get their point across. A lot of residents simply don't know that much about CV politics. I am afraid I am one of the guilty ones. However, I have been enjoying this blog to learn about our politics and it is so nice to hear different points of view. Maybe those of us who have been participating in the blog would be willing to make donations to advertise the Blog in the Advocate. Other subjects could also be discussed that might draw more people in. For example, sports, receipes, movies, show reviews, books, etc. I at first enjoyed very much chatting with other CV folks on the q&a and now on this blog. I remember all the good wishes from many on the q&a over the Thanksgiving holiday. It was wonderful. It made you feel so good about your community. It would be such a shame to loose that again. Well - I just don't know...
