That's it. Susan Hayward. She was wonderful. Died way too young. Now that was a tearjerker.

I agree: "GODFATHER ll" plus, "ON THE WATERFRONT" and "RAGING BULL" --- "BACK STREET" was GREAT! But, Susan Hayward's best - "I WANT TO LIVE" !

Hi Le Titfly,

The Black Dahlia is dynamite; although made recently and costing 50 million dollars, it evokes the best of Film Noir.

Not to be missed.

I will stayup to see the Black Dahlia.

I agree, Godfather II was the very best! A young, wonderful Robert DeNero. Could watch it over and over. He's always been great - but in that movie - fantastic! Least favorite was Godfather III. I guess the church thing bothered me.
John Wayne - any movie!

Another very great - The Shawshank Redemption with Tim Robbins & Morgan Freeman. Love the end.

George Carlin on Saturday night at 10:00 PM? Is it on a channel we get?

I'll have to rent "I want to live". I think I saw it, but it's been too long and I can't remember much.
Mike - stay up until 12:30 to watch Black Dahlia. You're better than me! The eyes are starting to close now at 10:40 PM!

Hi Le Titfly,

"Rotten Tomatoes" is an excellent Site.

I would also recommend;

http://www.imdb.com/

This is the INTERNET Movie Data Base and I believe you will find it to be a significant source of Movie information.

Give it a try.

The 1941 movie "Back Street" starred Charles Boyer and Margaret Sullavan.

Topper said...

Hi Bob. How about that. I didn't realize the Back Street I was remembering was a remake. I just looked it up and the one that I saw was made in 1961 with Susan Hayward and John Gavin.
Thanks, Chris

Topper said...

Oh yes, Dave already posted that. Sorry - long day.

I want to apologize to anyone who was offended by Saturday night’s “George Carlin”. I encouraged folks to watch it, and to tell you the truth, I forgot how bad the language thing was. I know that can be very offensive. Again, I apologize, thought I have to admit I was really laughing my head off when he was talking about when somebody dies he gives them 6 weeks as a courtesy and then white-outs them from his address book and now that he has a digital, he gives them 6 weeks and then moves them to the delete section, where he gives them another 6 weeks – and then – that’s it, gone!
He is so funny. Too bad he can’t lighten up on the language. But again, then he wouldn’t be George Carlin.
Best to al, Chris
