Insomnia

Insomnia is a horrible thing. Does it happen to any of you? I went to sleep around 10:30 PM last night, and there I am on the computer at 3:30 PM in the morning.

They say that a person needs to allow themselves enough sleep in order for the body to heal and function properly. Well, no matter how I try to do the right thing, my body won’t let me get more than 5 hours of sleep a night!

Does anyone have some good solutions for this problem? It’s tough going through your day feeling tired all the time. Actually – it’s the pits!

a very tired,
chris

Great information Sandman! I've saved this to my favorites and am going to try to follow a lot of these techniques. It made good sense.
But, I can't watch Bill O'Reilly anymore? Oh no...
thanks,
chris

Tried some of Sandman's techniques last night. You know, they helped. I made sure the room was real black. I covered the alarm clock up (it has big bright numbers). I also took the night light out of the bathroom and shut the bedroom door so the light didn't come in from the Jalousie front door. Everything helped!

The only downside, was having to worry a little about meeting one of Elaine's wonderful friends the wrong side up - if you know what I mean!!!

Interesting link to Dr Mercola. I read his eletters regularly, he is passionate and is selling stuff but he helps me balance out the big pharma companies advertising. Hope you get thru all 33 suggestions Chris. I did not quite understand ‘my friends’ you mean critters, not ghosts I hope. I do sleep, nap, doze etc. very well, too well.
It is hard to get the total backness in CV. I have a Canadian friend who sez 'Its ef-n daylight 24 hours a day here' because of excessive lights.

Hi Elaine,
I was just having a little fun because I know how you love your "critters".

What I was referring to, was - wasn't it you that wrote in about a friend who went to the "camode" during the middle of the night and was shocked to find a frog (I think it was a frog" in the toilet bowl?
By keeping my bathroom totally dark - I run the risk of "not" seeing one of your "critters", be it frog, snake or whatever!!! But that is the price I will have to pay for precious night sleep according to Dr. Mercola!

One more thing Elaine,
Do you remember how dark it was during the 3 hurricanes? It was so eerie. I hope I never have to witness that again. It was pitch, pitch dark by 8:00 PM.

Even if I do loose precious sleep, I am very happy to take the comforting lights of our CV. I'll take them every single night without one little complaint!

I could have written the same post Chris. What I do is turn on the TV in the living room and select Comcast Music chanel (841) classical, set volume to barely audible and set the tv to sleep in 60 minutes. I rarely am awake when the tv goes off. Good luck. Len

Thanks Len for your suggestion. I will try some very soft music tonight.
You must have a box to get those high music stations. Is it many, many more stations with the box?

Sounds like a call to Rotor Rooter is in order.
