UCO's Attorney will brief all on the new changes contained in recently signed legislation.
Make certain someone from your Association attends to hear changes for which we all must comply.

this is hb995 which is all of the amendments to the condo act.some of which are scary to associations. please,please attend. this is going to make big changes in those associations that do not have enough folks to serve on their boards because it will prevent husbands and wives form serving together. that's just one.

Phyllis, glad to hear that all the anonymous posters are not male and not singular.
Some, if not all, of these changes were proposed last year but the legislature listened when we said that this would create chaos in the village. This year either they did not have an information sharing program or they just forgot to inform us.
These changes already passed and scheduled to go into effect either on July 1st or October 1st as I understand it will not be good for this village IF they are really enforced.
But why have them if they are not enforced.
I served on the Board for three associations and without exception each will probably be in violation next year because of unit owner indifference. All three now have a least two persons with the same last name.
I repeat--this is not progressive change. If enforced we will be seeing several if not many associations being operated by folks hired by Tallahassee.
