MEETING IN THE DARK - BUSINESS AS USUAL - A SMALL VICTORY.

Hi All,
The Officers Committee has thought better of their hastily called un-noticed Monday meeting;

It has been cancelled.

They are getting the message.

Let's have a good turnout for the Wednesday meeting of the Officers Committee.

Dave do you happen to know just where in the clubhouse the Wednesday meeting will be held?

Hi Larry,

It is my understanding that VP Frank Cornish will be arranging the room assignment with WPRF staff today.

I wonder who the candidates are going to be? Hum. Don't fool yourselves into believing that we are all fools. We are not!

Open meetings are good, but can we have 30 days to iron out the details? We're not the state; we don't have to do things EXACTLY like Tallahassee!

i have read and listened to all theswe comments and deeds of derring do for several days already and cannot begin to find the words that would describe my feelings about all of this. As a former principal, I would not have expected such behavior from my most unruly students and certainly would not have tolerated it at all. Bullying is verboten - in any shape, manner or method. Disguising it as a "concern" for CV does not hide the rude and selfish behavior that we have seen evidenced over these last few days - and indeed ever since we had a new administration under George Lowenstein.
In England there is a term called the loyal opposition. Why should we not have that here? I guess I can answer that based on the behavior of the bullies - ther would be nothing in it for them! I am still waitin g fcor Jean Dowling to call me for my tour of the clubhouse when it was under its interminable construciton that awe found out later had not been done properly - big surprise! Under the previous administration noone ever knew what was happening,no Town Halls, censorship in the UCO Reporter, and other such despicable and irresponsible behaviors and acions. Under George , we, at CV, have had a clubhouse finished, improvemens in the quality of life and a faith in our administration via an open door policy. Those of you who are screaming for open meetings - when was the first time you ever had one? When was the first time you ever had transparency in government. And since when was it ever proper to barge into UCO and verbally abuse one of the most forthright and honest and hard working prople I have ever come across.Dorothy has been a blessing to CV and you abuse her!!!!Why, because she is honest?Because she cares? Because she is only for the Village and not for herself?
Well, children of pre nursery, it is time for your time out, time for you to learn some manners and proper behaviors, time to be as hey say, a mensch (A decent and honest human being).Think carefully, review your behavior and then think again. You know, we here in the Village are closer to meeting our Maker than not - wouldn't you like to meet Him with a clean conscience?

Some years ago when President Arthur Bernhardt died suddenly and the succession plan was somewhat vague, a method was put in place and the business of UCO went forward. I would assume that after Wednesdays meeting UCO will move forward. I was in the UCO office this morning the doors were open and things were humming. As in most organizations there will be things that will need immediate attention and there will some that can wait.

Its true there is a parallel and opposite universe. Anonymous lives in it, but her info is 2nd hand.
My view - George worked to:
1) Eliminate term limits
2) Effectively close UCO Committee meetings to Unit Owners
3) Pour $500K plus into a reckless legal fiasco.
4) Fail to pursue "One Vote Per Unit"
5) Totally underfund Shoreline Restoration.
6) Fail to fund a $2 Million hurricane deductible liability
7) Create many disaffected residents with his autocratic behavior
8) Treat thinkers as troublemakers.
9) Fill cmtes with his cronies.
10) Take credit that was not his.
Etc.
