CABLE TV - DELEGATE ASSEMBLY DECISION

Hi All,

On November 7, 2008; the Delegate Assembly voted to go forward on engaging a professional negotiation company to deal with Comcast or another provider if Comcast will not behave.

Delegate Assembly approval was conditioned on two provisos:

1) The President of UCO will make a best effort to scrub the negotiators Compensation package.

2) The Contract with the negotiation firm will be vetted by a Attorney.

Let me get this straight, GL is going to scrub the compensation package. GL has decided the committee that understands the workings of the cable situation and did the foot work in getting the bids was not capable of getting a reasonalbe contract for the betterment of the Village. You have to be kidding me. The guy who cost us at least 500k in unnessasary legal bills in the Levy fiasco is now scrubbing the contract . lmao

I better check my spelling next time.

Is Mr. Lowenstein going to try to negoiate a batter percentage and the committee is to handle the rest after the lawyer checks things out. That was my understanding at the Delegates meeting???

Don't you think the Village has suffered enough from GL putting his stamp of approval on things. The committee does not need the likes of GL to do anything, especially in the area of negotiations. Who insisted on GL doing this, GL ???????

Hi Dave , Why are we paying for channels 16,97,99 , they are nothing but infomercals. 19, and 20 are useless also. Who cares about 20, PB county bids etc. Does anyone watch 19 ? Mike

Yes, GL was charged to attempt to get an improved Compensation percentage (a lower rate); your understanding tracks with mine.

Hi Mike,
This is the nature of "Enhanced Basic" Infomercials Etc..

It is very tricky to bash any particular channel; what you cannot abide may be someone elses favorite.

If we sign with a professional negotiator, we will work with them to develop an RFP containing what we want to see for Channel loading from the selected provider.

I will seek input from our Unit Owners on this.

To anonymous 8:56,

If I remember corretly, the delegate assembly approved the legal fiasco you're speaking about. The delegate and the unit owners all counted the money they were going to get. Just because they put their nickle on the wrong horse, it is a bit unfair, to say the least, to make King George the only villian.

However,

David Israel has more brains under his little toenail than George will ever hope to have. Once again, the delegate assembly voted with their comatose collective brain.

ps. George, you can try to steal Dave's accomplishments but you're not smart enough to steal his brain.

DUH !!!!!!!!

"DUH" sure is getting used an awful lot on this blog. Captain John, you might want to come up with a new expression. Your word has been used and abused here. We no longer know who the "DUH" belongs to.
I guess you could say you're famous - or should I say "infamous".
DUH!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi All,
While certainly there have been issues upon which we might take UCO to task, this is not one of them.

Today, November 12th., 2008
UCO President Loewenstein negotiated an excellent deal with our designated negotiator, a distinct improvement over the rate negotiated by the Cable Committee.

This is what the Delegate Assembly asked him to do, and he did it!

Due to Confidentiality requirements, I may not reveal this result here, but it may be disclosed to the Delegate Assembly in due course.

The project is proceeding well, please give it time to run it's course.

How dare you have "confidentiality " issue with OUR MONEY.

We want full disclosure of everything....we want a legal Century Village...we don't care what Levy wants.

Hi A Nony Mouse

It is not confidentiality from the Unit Owners; rather from the rest of the world that may read this BLOG.

ALL DETAILS will be given to the next Delegate Assembly meeting.

George Lowandsteam took a perfectly good lawsuit by Rosen that had a good chance of succeeding and wasn't going to cost us a dime out front ( probably a percentage, whatever Rosen worked out ) , and following the advice of Levy's attorney Tennyson, started a ruckus in the 15th District Court ( which Levy has in his pocket ) and spent hundreds of thousands of dollars. In the end, when Levy realized that UCO was illegal and the Long Term Lease was void, Levy settled immediately, but the unit owners of Century Vilage got screwed...instead of 11 million minus 3 million for the attorney's, we got promises and promises of maybe 2 million.

Thanks George.

You have no political savy..give it up.

Sorry, I tried --- but, we are back to: *** DUH ??? !!!

UCO IS A BUSINESS, NOT A SYNAGOGUE.

Time for George to go bye bye. He has no business acumen. Bring in a retired CAM to run things, including making a deal with the cable company.
