RESUMPTION OF TUESDAY NIGHT KARAOKE
VP Frank Cornish, introduced a new motion to restore Tuesday Night
Karaoke, effective immediately, which was supported by all, many of
whom had previously voted to discontinue it... I know others join me
in appreciation of their reconsideration of the decision that was made
at the August, 2008 Operations Committee Meeting.
The hours are from 6pm to 9pm and will be held in the Party Room of
the Clubhouse...Perhaps sometime in the future, when conditions permit
Tuesday Night's will once more be held outdoors..in the meantime
Do come and enjoy and support the efforts of Tommy & Delores.....AND
of course Friday Nights, hosted by Jack & Cecile...

SELECTION OF MOVIES
After walking out of several showings, this summer, including tonight's
feature, should like to know who is responsible for the selections...
Is it in the hands of the individual who as well selects our live enter-
tainment? Thank you for your input..

KARAOKE
Can somebody tell me why the Karaoke was cancelled last Friday night?
It was Jack's and Cecelia's night for Karaoke. When people arrived
at the ClubHouse they were told that tonight's (July 25th) Karaoke
was cancelled. Can anyone post the reason why Jack's and Cecelia's
night to put on a show was cancelled.

CV VP Entertainment
Wherefore cometh our CV movies and shows, click here http://www.centuryvillagetheater.com/ContactUs.htm But before you drive VP Entertainment Abby Koffler crazy, be it known that UCO, including George L, met with her over concerns expressed on the Blog (who knew!). There are many aspects to the thorny task of selecting movies from the 80 new offerings available to us each year. I am sure there will be info forthcoming from our UCO Programs Cmte (I’m not sure of their exact title) detailing their in-depth meeting with Ms. Koffler. She phoned me in answer to a recent questionnaire (wow) and said she “would be thrilled to receive specific requests” from the UCO Programs Cmte. So those of you with the urge to merge with UCO, get over there with your input. (I am up north on vacation, no clubhouse movies for me).

SUNDAY NIGHT SING - A - LONG
Just wondering do we have bloggers, who enjoy singing?
The Sing a long, has been around for sometime...I believe begun by Angelo Amari, accomplished
Violinist, who on Special occasions, would bring his prized Stratovarious. He was accompanied
for a period of time, by piano players, some of whom volunteered their time, as Angelo did,
and a few who were paid through contributions, of those that attended. Song books, supplied
and paid for initially by Angelo were distributed....the assembled sang, selections chosen
by Angelo, for the first hour, and the second hour, was called "Showtime" in which individuals
made the selection, sang a stanza or two and encouraged audience participation.
At the end of the evening, everyone applauded, and left invigorated..
When Angelo, began to ail, Louis, began assisting him, and subesequently became the host,
when Angelo, could no longer. Louis, along with another sing a longer...Hector, re vamped
the program, by using today's technology....the computer, which allows them to down load
a variety of songs, and with the assistance of CV sound man, are able to project the lyrics
on a large screen, in Room C.....where the movies used to be shown.....
At the present time, due to many complaints lodged with Ms. Anita Cruz, the format has
been discontinued.... many people have taken the liberty of comparing this evening to
Kareokee, the only similarities, are the use of the microphone, and song selection....
In Kareokee, the audience is not encouraged to accompany the singer, nor are the lyrics
viewable to all...In addition, a portion of the evening, is set aside for Ball room and Line
dancing, enjoyed by many.
Many Sunday Nighters, would like to have the original format re-instated....
Any input?
